Hi,
Yes I thought it strange no one cept me seem to have noticed or been affected. I'm working now with the vintage funk kit.
Wim, what is the best way to reach the developers? And best place for DPP info?
I'm trying to find out what audio file formats it supports.
I must say the dynamics have improved in last 2 updates. Great now.
I haven’t seen @Marinus around for quite a while, but @Gilbert is often around the AB forum.
There’s quite an extensive manual.
For samples it’s happy with wav files.
I just bought it a couple of days ago. Yeah, definitely it's worth it, the rhythm possibilities and the overall sound are amazing. I don't understand about 50% of its features yet but it looks very promising.
Thank again for the advice, looks like I found the perfect toy
I have a Roland Fd-9 hi-hat control pedal with my kit. I recorded the stream of midi out data along with my DPP configuration and sent it to their support email after I exhausted every other troubleshooting option I could find or think of. I don’t think support could figure it out either because I got no more replies after a few exchanges. Maybe I’ll try one of the electronic drum forums next. As a starting point I just want to find someone who has actually got it to work and sound like a variable hi-hat on the current release v3.21
Otherwise you are correct DPP does have some nice sounding and randomized acoustic sampled kits.
Sorry deleted.
Hi @Gilbert and all,
OK..I might have to rescind my recommendation of DPP.
IPad 8th gen. DPP 3.21.I went to change a sample by tapping on the name to get a list. I went to tap on a kick drum in the list and a piano chord sounded. BTW I have the JM 5/4 swing IAP. Couldn't get rid of it....restarts..reboots...hold side/then hold home button.
Then I uninstalled, and reinstalled w/o IAP.
When I tapped on the name of sample, the list came up empty. Sometimes it comes up with 2 names on top each other in every name slot.
This app is so close to what i need on ios,but i cant take these "bugs".Can anyone tell me if its just me?
How to get support?
Arrrgh and thanks. Should I start a new thread?
Same.
Still working on it, slow going, but progress is being made!
Awesome. My cash is waiting!
Great to hear!
I've recently purchased DrumJam and I love the approach to build grooves. Is your plan to make it an AUv3?
It's more of a spin-off AUv3, basically just the pads portion, along with the ability to create custom kits made up of hits from existing DrumJam instruments, or your own imported samples. See the thread here for more details:
https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/47761/drumjam-pads-upcoming-auv3
As you can see from the date of that thread, it's been "upcoming" for quite some time now....
DPP has an AU player though.
In terms of sample quality, the acoustic drums extension for Beathawk is as good as it gets on iOS. If you’re looking for a groove generator you’ll need to hook up another app to sequence it, but Beathawk is AUv3 so that shouldn’t be too hard.
The acoustic drums extension is on sale right now if you want to try it out.
I keep forgetting to contact their support and ask what's wrong with the kick drum in their multisampled acoustic kit.
The process of loading the kit is already quite convoluted (browser > acoustic drums > drum elements > drum kits > bass drum - why?!), and the bass drum pad is a few solid dB quieter than any other drum in the kit. Of course you can add gain when using it with multiple outputs, but in general it makes it a pain to use.
Are you still making a module that is lighweight ( like fac drum ) Can have different hits per module ( like Fac drum ) So you can sequence robins. Obviously there would be an additional ( usual robin method for finger drums )
Perhaps to get around the 10 limit au.
Is be a bundle ( with a free app in bundle )
Same but slightly different code.
Thats if you think ipads can actually use up to 12-16 of the modules whilst there still be cpu for other stuff.
That said ( I keep forgetting )
Fac is lightweight but a dozen au wont be a low buffer setting for fingerdrums, however.
Make app so its good for multiout but will also be good if multi au because ipads of the future could be ok with multi au, at low buffer.
Just tried this. Sounds really nice. Might be the best option for now. As far as I can see that's the only Acoustic kit available - is that right?
Gladstone/ Borsta
You mean the only acoustic kit for fac drumkit? If so, I don't know. But if you mean in general, you should really check out the recently released OneShot by Klevgrand, I love it.
Hmmm ... just read Music Radar's review. Really tempting and possibly a justifiable purchase given that there's not really much else that does what it does. Thanks for the heads-up.
That intro price of 20 bucks will end in a few days, i think. Hard to imagine, with all the included kits and sounds, that you could get a better deal if looking for quality acoustic drums. I have some UI niggles and there are a few inconveniences compared to the desktop version when it comes to importing samples. Still great though.
Thanks @Gavinski - bought it🙂
Congratulations!!
OneShot is da shit!
Having played with it quite a bit now, I 100% agree. OneShot is easily the best answer to the question asked by the OP of this thread. As @Gavinski said, get it quickly while it's still on sale. Four more days⌛
That said, re the OP, you'd need another app for programming the actual rhythms. Octachron or PolyBeat are the two of the main options I'm aware of, although for Cubasis users Octachron is the one to go for because PolyBeat doesn't work properly (skips beats etc)
