How are things in Glocca Morra? (trumpet solo)
My hope was to post this Irish song last week for St. patricks Day, but had a family emergency. "How are things in Glocca Morra?" is a sentimental song from the 1940's about a beautiful place in Ireland (Glocca Morra is a made up name - there's no such town I've read). Tried to make this sound like a smooth and lush Irish lullaby.
For the real instruments, I'm using an old beat-up Conn 16B trumpet that has seen it's better days but really has a nice sound. I'll post a pic of it.
The lush pads and strings sounds came from the Korg iM1 - used AudioBus 3 to feed it into MultiTrackStudio where I recorded the song.
The background vocals are from BLocs Wave - the Choral Kit IAP.
I used mostly TB apps for effects, TB Reverb, EQ, etc. Also used MixBox.

Beautiful stuff @Dav.
A lot of good mojo in that old trumpet too I bet.
Love the trumpet!
This music is so elegant, love this recording!
Truly beautiful!!!
My mom would have loved this! She was 100% Irish, born in Castlebar. I have heard that it’s a real place in county Cork. The Gaelic spelling was probably very different. We visited Cork on a family vacation in the 60s. My dad and I actually kissed the Blarney Stone. I probably wouldn’t do that now!
I love the tone of your horn and your arrangement. Very beautiful!
Thanks for listening, @Ben, @ReneAsologuitar and @Paulieworld! That’s cool paulieworld, I’d love to visit Ireland. Not 100% sure what part my ancestors came from, I will have ask my dad.
Really nice! Thanks for sharing
Beautiful track, love the look of the trumpet… looks lived in 🤨 if you know what I mean. Lovely sound 🎺
Go to Ireland. You won’t be disappointed. 😊
Thanks, @Edward_Alexander and @GeoTony!
Sweet sound and solid, relaxed, breath control. I was drawn to that part.
Looks like a wall hanger but it still sounds good. I've always liked this melody.
I’m catching up on your archived catalog here… I loved the performance but I’m cursing the trumpet for being just a skosh flat.
A studio would just apply auto-tune. It’s just enough to poke out and want to edit. It’s a shame but it happens… there are also probably some headphones physics that can contribute to the results.
Anyway… on into the vault for your next shared work. I have 2 on my iPad so far!
