Hammerhead - tame that craziness! You have to try this.

It’s maybe an obvious one to some though - but it certainly gets good results if you haven’t tried it.
Things getting a bit to crazy and out of hand with the glitch and mutation?
Try having two instances.
Lane 1) Have bass drum, snare and hats only - leave the other sections empty (you can just leave an empty user sample to make sure nothing plays). Now programme them in the way you want them to play - use the chance option to play occasional beats on some of the ones off your main beat.
Lane 2) Have your selected percussion instruments sprinkled in here (maybe just another four or so seems to work well), again using the chance feature if you want to.
Now play them together but add glitch and mutation to ONLY the percussive instruments in Lane 2

How does that sound? You like it?
Just wait until you start playing with different patterns in each lane 😃

  • you are right on the money that it yields crazy results

After getting Hilda I was blown away and I thought I should get some drums so I looked no further than @brambos, and let me just say woahhhhh with the mutations and glitch. Endless variation and beautiful combos. It is such an amazing instrument and to think it is a 1995 origins. (I wonder if there’s more presets?)

Bram really is one of a kind and Hilda and hammerhead are not just perfect, they are a perfect pair. I am very grateful to him for making instruments that even a novice can really enjoy and appreciate. If it comes up, I’m nominating or voting for app/dev of year with Hilda . Thanks again bram

  • Don’t forget ripplemaker. For me these are now the holy trinity (hosted in D)

  • Nice tip, will have a play around with that, thanks.
