Nembrini Amps: iPad Into Ableton Possible?
Is there any downside to recording in Ableton but relying on the amp sims on the iPad? I've got a clutch of TH-U amps and pretty much all the Nembrinis.
I'm migrating the workflow to be Ableton-centric once the Mac Mini arrives. I have an iConnect4+ interface, which by all accounts connects the iPad and the desktop seamlessly, as it has two USB ports.
Can I expect to play through my iPad using my Nembrini iOS apps without issue? I'd rather not shell out for the desktop apps, but since there's an 80% Nembrini sale right now, this would be the time to choose workhorse guitar and bass app for desktop.
Anyone have any experience with this situation?

I’ve been doing this for a couple of years now, all seems good to me. There might be I bit of latency but I haven’t noticed it and as long as all the sample rates are the same everything stays locked and sounding sweet - I did go through a phase when I thought it was all awry with glitchy stuff coming in after a while, but one I figured out which unit was in charge and kept the sample rates locked to that, it’s been plain sailing (aside from still not wrapping my head around the MIDI sharing properly that is)
If you keep your buffer sizes as low as possible in both Ableton and the iPad you shouldn’t have a problem. There will be a touch of latency but to most people it’s completely imperceptible.
With the iConnect it’s a perfect setup. You can monitor direct from the iPad, and leave monitoring off in Ableton, for no added latency. It’ll be just like using the iPad alone, only you’re also recording it.
Fantastic news.
Thanks.
Yes! Turn monitoring off for no added latency.. so important in Ableton.. definitely watch this..
