AUM / DRAMBO / ROZETA SUITE / APPLE AU ON IOS - AM I LATE TO THE PARTY OR IS MY IPAD IS TRIPPING
iOS 16.2
I’ve been trying to load Rozeta in AUM and it’s not being found. Tried reinstalling (I think it was “offloaded” due to not using it in a while) but it still was not seen by AUM. So thus tried Drambo where it’s also missing… HOWEVER I’m seeing macOS AU plugins in Drambo.
When the hell was it possible to use Apple’s stock AU tools from MacOS in iOS.
Was this always visible in Drambo?
I use Drambo infrequently but I’m sure as hell I’ve never seen this.
Unfortunately I can’t see these AUs in any other host app.
Is this normal or is my iPad tripping?
And why can’t I use Rozeta anymore

and following comments. They're newly available if you're on iOS 16.
For Rozeta, maybe try opening the standalone Rozeta app. It does nothing visible but I've seen plugins that need to have the standalone run once to work right.
Are you trying to browse to Rozeta plugins in AUM and Drambo, or using their search function?
Not sure if this is the reason, but one thing to remember is that they are categorised a bit differently from most midi apps.
To open them in aum do the following:
Click to add a node. Select 'midi'
Next, swipe down in aum to reveal the search bar. Search 'Rozeta'. You should find them.
The main thing to remember is that they are under the 'Audio Unit Extension' list in AUM. Not the 'Audio Unit Midi Processor' list, which is where almost all other midi apps will be found.
No tripping at all. Starting with iOS/iPadOS 16 Apple added new UIs for most of the 'built-in' AUv3's.
It's up to the developer to show or hide them.
Drambo only shows the Apple AUv3's under iOS/iPadOS 16 as they are more or less 'UI Less' and pretty un-stable under earlier iOS/iPadOS versions.
GarageBand and ApeMatrix are two other hosts that show them, they're may be more.
Hopefully we'll see them enabled on AUM at some point
UPDATE:
I performed a hard restart on the iPad and Rozeta became visible by all hosts again.
As for the Apple plugins, thanks for the link info @wim . This is welcomed although "pretty un-stable" for now as @Samu mentioned. I hope it becomes more usable in the future.
