Samplewiz 2 alternatives
I have and love Samplewiz 2 on my phone, iPad, and laptop. With my own custom presets, it's one of my favourite synths/apps/plugins.
However, it keeps crashing Ableton Live 11 when loading presets. The Ableton support team are on it, and trying to resolve it, and I'm running the latest version.
However, currently, until this is resolved, I can't use it on desktop. What is there out there that might give me a similar approach that I could use on desktop, and ideally, on iPad too?

Have you considered running it on your iPad ? Use idam to connect Mac and iPad, load SampleWiz on your iPad, send midi to the iPad and capture the audio into Ableton from the iPad.
I haven't no, I guess because it should, in theory, work like a dream on my Mac. But Ableton doesn't seem to be liking it. It appears to run just fine in BitWig Studio. Which is a shame, as I'm not fond of BitWig, but using it as a fallback, every time Ableton lets me down. There's a message in there somewhere…
Until Ableton runs it, you might consider the setup i mentioned. AUv3 running on the Mac is new enough that it isn’t surprising that there will be glitches.
Thanks, but it's not AUv3, it's a VST3, bought separately from the iPad and iOS version.
