Helium Media Bay confusions

I’ve been using Helium for a while now so I should understand this better, but I realize I don’t have a clear picture of how to export a midi file from the Sessions I’ve made.
I’ve gone over the manual and watched videos without finding a solution.

So, to export a midi file I’m supposed to save a track into the Songs area. But how? Let’s say I have some midi on track 3 and I just want to export that as a midi file, I guess I’m supposed to get this track into the Songs area where I can then export it as midi. How? It seems like it should be a simple matter, probably hidden in plain sight.

If you just want to export a single track as midi
-go to the track you want to export (after you’ve loaded the song or session)
-select the region (length of clip) at top of time line
    -open mediabay
-make sure you’re in the clips section
-choose a folder to export to or make a new one
-go to the bottom right, hit export midi clip
    -give it a name
    -done

You can then drag + drop this into files app or anywhere else that supports d+d..

I’ll let someone else answer the sessions + songs question..

The process is a little convoluted but thanks to your description I can now do it. I really appreciate your help on this!
