iPad to Mac mini
Hello folks
Beginner question from a very untechnical me.
I would like to record my iPad with all of its amazing apps (koala sampler for example) into Ableton. I would like to do this without losing any audio quality whatsoever. What sort of set up would I need to do this? I was told recently I would need TWO audio interfaces (one coming out of iPad and another going in to Mac mini) is that true? I want to record my iPad into ableton with the best possible audio quality! What do I need in terms of gear to do this?
Thanks folks!

You can do this with iDAM. It only works one-way for audio, but both ways for midi. Here's one guide: https://www.cultofmac.com/615742/how-to-record-digital-audio-from-your-iphone-to-your-mac-with-idam/. There are many others if you search.
The only limitation is since this acts as an audio interface, you can't use it at the same time as audio input to the iPad. So, you can't do something like play a guitar into the iPad and send it through FX to the Mac. Everything else will work though.
Honestly though? If you really want no loss and minimum hassle? Render to audio and airdrop to the Mac. It's extremely efficient and requires zero setup hassle.
Oh. And just to save you a bunch of time if this happens: At some point I began having problems with my iPad not holding a connection reliably over iDAM. After a lot of trying different cables, cleaning USB ports, etc. I found that it was an old battery issue. My MacBook didn't want to supply enough power to the iPad, presumably because the iPad battery is old and practically shot.
Plugging a powered USB hub into the Mac, then the iPad into the hub solved that issue. So, if you get an unstable connection, that could be the cause. Making sure your iPad has a good charge might help as well.
Yep idam with regular apple cable between iPad and Mac works great
