Voice recorder with mic selection option

Hi. One of the mics on my 6s started playing up and I wonder if there is a voice recording app that allows to select which mic to use.

I’m happy to be corrected that indeed 6s has only one mic but I’m still in the land of hope (delusion).

It must have the iCloud storage facility

Thanks

  • I don't know about that but the first generation irig mic cast ones, you can plug in the headphone jack, that the 6s still has can be picked up rather cheap. I got mine for 10 Euros new on eBay. If all else fails, maybe this helps.

Yeah, I just bought one for my daughter for £40 in the uk which is dirt cheap but wanted to see if there’s another solution. I must admit that I’ve never seen them for 10 euros news but I guess these are the perks of living in the EU if at all.

You can download Voice Record 7. There’s a free version and a paid version. The only difference is that the free version has ads in the app, but they aren’t pop-ups or videos luckily. Just some ads on the bottom of the screen. This app is highly customizable. When you have set all your preferences and are ready to record, there’s an option called “check levels”. You can check the incoming signal but most important you can choose between the mics from your iPhone. Press record and you’re good to go! And fyi: the iPhone 6s has multiple microphones built in the device. Good luck! 👍

Loopy Pro and AUM both let you choose which mic to use if the phone has more than one

Wow this app is nuts. A bit overkill for recording snippets of song ideas while riding a bike but definitely great to have for more involved recording.

Thanks a lot for the tip
