Early Summer (Noire, Omnisphere)

This is a music track that I improvised on two MIDI keyboards connected to Bitwig Studio on a desktop PC. There the MIDI was routed to Noire for the piano and Omnisphere for the background instruments.

After bringing the audio recording into Vegas Pro, I applied the Lurssen Mastering Console plug-in to the audio mix.

It's titled Early Summer.

Edit: Swapped out for a better mix

  • You really seem to have the coolest tools for these improvisations.

Do you ever perform like this live or is the set-up too complicated for mobile situations?

  • Thanks, @McD, @Svetlovska, and @Edward_Alexander. Much appreciated.

@McD, no, I haven't tried to perform live with my desktop setup. It would be cumbersome, but doable. Except I don't think the result would be as good.

While I don't change any notes from the initial performance, I do routinely change the tempo, swap out presets, and adjust the mix and effects to improve the performance. Also, the improvisations go much better if I'm not thinking about (or worrying about) the outcome.

It's like writing versus public speaking. I'm not a good public speaker because I'm too self-conscious about it.

  • So wonderful, keep me like floating on your music.

  • Thanks, @BerlinFx and @GeoTony. Much appreciated.
