MiRack CC in AUM

Can anyone point to a good tutorial or two on straightforward ways to control MiRack module parameters within AUM? Note in is fairly clear but I’d like to get as close to simplicity as AUM’s midi learn system for the parameters. Thanks.

    It's very simple.

    • Tap the MAP button at the top left of the miRack window.
    • Tap a knob that you want to control.
    • Pick the number of the parameter that you want to assign to that knob.
    • Repeat for up to 32 controls.

    Now you can learn and automate the parameters as you would any other AUv3 parameters in AUM. You do need to keep track of which knobs are assigned to which parameters since they don't rename according to what you map them to. But, if you forget to take notes, you can always tap the MAP button to see the numbers listed on the mapped controls.

    You can also send CC's directly into miRack with one or more MIDI CC Input modules, then patch those to any CV inputs. Each Midi CC Input module has 12 configurable CC's. Tap the Configure button to set the CC's you want to use. Then just run a cable to any input jack that will accept them.

    The advantage of AUv3 parameter controls is you can control anything, even knobs that don't have CV input.
    The advantage of CC input is portability. Your patch can be taken to any host.

    I’ve been watching this thread with interest, as I’ve never tried mapping stuff for external control, and wasn’t sure why I’d want to do it considering the availability of the CC modules and MiRack’s internal modulation possibilities.

    You’ve just given me dangerous ideas for yet more modulation by showing a way to modulate things which don’t have CV control available! I’m already considering sending CCs out from a modulation source and then looping them back in via AUM to control things without CV inputs…

    AU. Super simple to set up once you have the building blocks in place (miRack MIDI Learn, then AUM parameter learn). Thanks again, @wim .
