The $29.99 (USD) made me stop and think about wether or not I really need this or not.
Ok..
I wonder how their rotary effect is. It’s a bit more attainable price wise.
It made me stop. No thinking required.
I can not keep up with the releases recently and coming up and that’s rare… lol.
I can’t wait to hear @Daveypoo play this.
Wow it does sound great though.
This definitely needs a sound comparison with IKM B-3X 😊
On the paper : 35€ vs. 160€, 85MB vs. 1,1GB
I am surprised that no more virtual Hammond enthusiasts here are jumping on this thread. I am not an expert at all but the few YouTube demos I watched of the desktop version sound very good.
I’m going to listen to more demos before I make a final judgement. I already own Hammond B-3x so I probably won’t be purchasing this unless it absolutely crushes the IK app. I do wish the video above had a little more variety in the playing…I want to hear sustained block chords to listen to how the Leslie ramps up and down. I’d also like to hear the drive circuit to see how that holds up to the IK app (and the real deal B3).
Sure.
@Daveypoo already did a nice comparison of these apps (+ GS VB3m + Galileo 2) here :
Could be nice if he finds some time to add this new Blue3 and share his opinion.
So is this the “big brand” to enter the iOS market? I don’t keep up with desktop stuff so I dunno, never heard of these guys
I have B3X also and don't need any ios clonewheel at all, but I need separate leslie because IK sucks to port it, and I bought Spin and I think it very close to B3X leslie emulation
@Blipsford_Baubie @Paulo164 This is tempting just out of sheer curiosity but the price tag is a bit too high for picking this up on a lark. I am interested in their stand-alone Leslie app but I'm going to wait until I hear some additional feedback from the community before pulling the trigger there...
If you want save money - go for cheap auv3 clonewheel like Yonac Galileo (during sales it was $1-$3 instabuy) or Insideout C3B3 and connect to Spin and you will have very good results. Because 80% of overall sound of tonewheel organ that we love from award winning records is The Leslie
I tested Spin with Nord Stage 3 organ and Nord shines like a crazy diamond, no regrets
I just can’t recommend Galileo 2 at all. It was one of the first apps I bought for organ (and it came with glowing reviews from this forum). It sounds nothing like a B3 through a Leslie. It’s just so anemic sounding. Definitely recommend spending a few more bucks and getting one of the other ones.
Wonder what, or if the iOS version lacks any of the features of the desktop.. I guess I am waiting on the community response also… Maybe a video of the iOS version will help..
Seems like a beauty… and support for porting to iOS..
I’m definitely tempted by this one. But I’m not sure I’d use it enough to justify it. Maybe I would. I do love a good organ, though I prefer the Vox.
Due to an unexpected change in plans I managed to get my hands on both Blue3 and Spin. I'm going to spend some time with them and then I'll update my Hammond B3 comparison video. It's going to take me a bit of time to put this through it's paces and get myself set up to film, so I just ask your patience.
BTW - in case you didn't know, @ninobeatz is the man.
Just sayin'...
Hi @Daveypoo ,
Thanks for jumping in the discussion.
That’s a great news. I enjoyed a lot your B3s comparison video and this new entry should be a fine addition. Hope everything is fine in 🇮🇹.
I guess we should also be thankful to @ninobeatz for whatever he did 😉
Thank you for the kind words! 🤝
Here is my walkthrough and demo for the most excellent Blue3
Many thanks to @ninobeatz for hooking up, top man.
And I too am looking forward to @Daveypoo Dave's deep dive.
I hope enjoy the video, I have to say that Blue3 is might impressive.
I’ve tried every iOS Hammond emulation there ever has been. I still like them all for their own distinct flavors…even both renditions of Galileo (yeah, I still use an old 30-pin iPad3 sometimes, love that Alesis iO Dock ii).
Doing a little A/B/C-ing…me thinks IKM/Hammond is still king, especially with the Leslie.
Blue3 is a great runner up and might have a better UI; possibly easier to gig with when lots of on-the-fly editing is required.
GSI, is just dead simple and easy to use, and sounds great in a rock setting, but UI is a little finicky when needing to switch to different tones. GSI’s Leslie is decent, but dated compared to the two others.
Just my two cents after an hour of dinking around.
I wanted to provide an update - I filmed a comparison video a week or so ago, but I'm not really happy with it as I'm thinking about changing up the format. I am working on this, though, it's just taking longer than I would like. I appreciate all your patience!
