Don’t Sweat The Details

I was just in a mood to crank something out. I didn’t spend much time with it. Have a nice day.

  • I love how your mixes can be full and complex without sounding dense. It’s something I struggle with. There always seems to be room for everything and it all sounds crisp and clear.

Thanks Mac. Hope you are getting some free time. Have a great day.

  • I was having a perfectly nice day until I listen to what you can just toss out without serious effort.
Now I realize I need to create a more effective catalog of source materials (loops, samples) and discover better tools for arrangement of those materials.

    Will that happen? Probably not.

Good day sir. I love digging through your cast off creations. When you get really serious I tend to consider taking up something in the visual arts. So, it could be worse for me. I guess I should be greateful. Usually I just skip testing myself against your work.

Seriously… you have made skills and an excellent ear for what works and what does not: A life well spent pursuing quality sounds.

Thank you so much! That means a lot to me. I hope to finally get started with StaffPad soon. I’m waiting for nice weather so I can sit outside. I will have a lot of questions for you. Enjoy the rest of your day!

A StaffPad update is coming… they haven’t disclosed what’s new but they are implying it will be a “game changier”. Hopefully, it will either be “audio-to-notation” or at least MIDI input as an option to Pencil input only. At the M1 iPad announcement they demo’ed something that sure looked like Audio-to-Notation.

Don’t forget you can import audio and also export Staffpad parts as audio Stems that you can use with your current workflow techniques in Cubasis. You don’t have to live inside Staffpad but you can use it as another source of material. It’s best at making orchestral renderings.

  • Very nice soft groove! B)

MIDI input would be great. I struggled with the handwriting when I first started. My handwriting is atrocious to begin with. As you know, I don't use any input other than manual MIDI editing and a few generative apps, so that would be huge. Here's to a great summer!

  • Crisp and clear, indeed!
    Keys are so nice.
I love the beat, so hip, so relaxed!
    This is a superb recording!

Thank you so much, Rene! I usually put a lot more time into these things. Maybe that's a mistake on my part. At first, I thought the drums didn't fit. We went out to see a movie, and when we got back, I listened again and just decided to post it. Have a great day, my friend.

  • Great recording, you are indeed very skilled not only for music but also as sound engineer

I have been watching the tutorials. I am always a bit intimidated by an empty score. I have been thinking about copying the structure of some well known compositions just to get started. Any suggestions?

  • Here’s my (very predictable GeoShred / SWAM Sax) addition to Paul’s great track…
Why don’t some of you good people out there have a go and post a version ?😊

    Art by AI…

  • Yow Paulie, your worlds are endless!
    Fantastico!!!
Glad to catch up on some ab tracks, times have been wild.
As always: your tracks are all very well produced.
    Mmmmmmm 👍

  • Love the homeward bound Ibiza sunset chillout vibe of this :#

Wow, that is absolutely sublime. Thank you!!!
I would love to watch your hands as you played this.
You have turned the iPad into a legitimate, serious musical instrument.
I can't wait to hear this in headphones tonight.
    Have a good one, bro.

  • @Bob @craftycurate When I walked into the office this morning, I was ready for a bad day. You turned that completely around. I don't think anything could get me down today. Thank you so much. You have no idea how much that means to me.

Also, the invitation to collaborate is open to everyone. I love hearing what others are thinking.

  • lovely track, mellow but alot of detail. Great to listen to going into Friday Afternoon. Admire your ability to just sit down and play out something like this.
