Are there any new audio effects worth getting? Been over a year since I bought a new app

I haven't been keeping up with the latest and greatest -- mostly because I have 200 apps that were looking more like a Steam game library than a set of tools I knew and used. But now that I'm comfortable with em, I'm wondering if there's anything actually groundbreaking that's come out in the pat year or two. I'm mostly interested in audio effects but if there's and MPE synth besides animoog z worth getting lemme know :)

  • Nope. Absolutely nothing has happened in a year…

  • I have a feeling this is going to be an 80 pages thread.

    If we’re lucky?

Teraverse Pro (there are several Virsyn Tera products) or Buttersynth. Butter for making your own sounds more easily and Tera Verse Pro for finding great Presets: tricky to understand but wirth the effort.

FX? Do you like reverb style or more glitchy FX?

    Ridimgare can do both.

Get ready for a really long list. Check out Jakob Haq videos for sound to go with words.

What I'd like to know is how you became comfortable with two hundred apps in a year, unless it's a comfort like the one you get when you realize the universe is pitiless and cruel, and you will never discover any purpose to any of the suffering. Also, probably mentioned below: Strokes has some great new features.

  • Replicant 3 is pretty cool.

  • Rhymdigare, I think that’s been about a year…
    Grand Finale 2
GSDSP MMM - free - all their apps, but MMM is only free one
LFOH is awesome that’s been about a year I think
    All the Audiothing ltd. Apps
    Room Reverb - free

  • All 4 Unfiltered Audio Apps
    Phonolynth Cascade - just released
    FAC Medusa
    Vocal Tune Studio
    Vocal Tune Pro
    PaulXStretch - Free
    MidiMorphisis2

    Synths:

Tera Pro is mpe and worth getting with the preset bundles, BrainZ especially

More mpe (albeit mono 😂: the new Asian instruments in geoshred

    FX apps:

Maybe lfoch for a very experimental lfo
Phonolyth Cascade as a reverb - only 5 bucks now
Replicant 3 if you like glitch

Look at the unfiltered audio fx apps

    Caelum flux Pro

If you like delays look at some of the Genuine Sounds and Audiothing offerings

For top shelf but expensive spectral fx look at gs dsp

    Spacefields by Igor Vasiliev.

    K devices lfoh

Kelbgrand grand finale is now auv3, great for quick and dirty live mastering. Same with FAC Medusa.

Get Mela 3 if you like midi fx

    Quantovox True Pan

    Mpe controller:

For an mpe keyboard you might want to look at Woodtroller

Also the very cheap but not auv3 Beat Pads

    Not a short list!

Take a look and see which ones suit you. Nice to see you again btw!

Your best bet is to make a coffee, sit down and go to the "Sound Test Room" on YouTube. Doug has shown pretty much all of the FX apps released over the last year. Take your pick...
