FIXED - Bug or feature: Melody Bud constantly sending CC 5 (Portamento)
I am just starting to enjoy Melody Bud from @cem_olcay . I love it but sadly my Korg Volca keys does not. I notice that Melody Bud is constantly sending out messages for CC 5 (portamento). Even when no glide is used, I can see that the portamento LED on the Volca flashes madly and Midi Spy shows one CC 5 = 0 message per step.
I am not sure if this is intentional - for me it's a bug. I would expect Melody Bud to only send a CC message when there is a change.
Comments
Turn it off in the settings. It should not be on by default IMO, but it is.
[edit] oops. I was thinking of stepBud, which has an option for this. Indeed, it should be an option and should be off by default, IMO.
Are you using AUM? If so, it's easy to filter that cc out in the routing.
If not then Streambyter can be used with the following one-line script.
Thanks for the suggestion. Because I am using both AUM and AB3, I will follow that scripting route. My plan is not to simply filter out the offending CC 5, but only when the same message gets repeated. This should not be too difficult. I usually use Mozaic, but have Streambyter / Midifire - so maybe time for a little Streambyter challenge ;-)
It’s easier to do the duplicate filtering thing with Mozaic IMO.
I’ll check it out and make an update, thanks for letting me know 👍
@cem_olcay thanks a lot for checking and for the work you put into these great apps.
@cem_olcay thanks a lot for fixing this.
