Ableton Note: Audio into sampler/drum rack w/ FX?

I play guitar using an iRig with FX loaded up in Loopy Pro or AUM. I want to record samples into Note using the effects chains in other apps. Currently, Note just pulls the dry signal straight into the drum rack when I hit record. Is there a way to route the audio so it records effects too?

I think you need to record in your host and export the samples and then import into Note as Note doesn't support Inter-Application Audio.

  • If you use an external interface with a loopback function, it could work. Last time I tested this, Note picks up audio from “physical” inputs 1+2, so you have to route your audio there somehow.

  • I don’t think my iRig has loopback, I have the HD 2 and it seems like that feature is on the Stream. I’m wondering if there is a way around this using AUM with a virtual port or something like that?

Note doesn’t support Inter-App Audio. So, if can’t record output from other apps. Just record in your apps and import the audio. It’s quick to do.
