  • auSCOPEX from auDSPr is brilliant!

  • Scope AUV3 by DiscoDSP is another one.

  • What the heck is a "16 note beat raster in the background"?

    Check out WaveScope

It's not strictly speaking an oscilloscope but it has a 16 note beat raster

  • Ahh. So a 16 note beat raster is a 1/16 note beat grid displayed behind the waveform. Got it.

  • thanks for all suggestions, wavescope looks nice!

  • wavescope does it for free, thanks alot.
how do you guys fine tune the midi delay in garageband?
even with quantisation on, you can see latency in wavescope. how do i nudge it a bit in both time directions?

  • Wavescope doesn't plot the waveform in sync with the AUv3 host here. Anyone else got this issue?

thats the question. is it out of sync or the track got that delay. i imagine one cannot bounce and zoom deep enough.
maybe export and look in logic.

Done a few more tests, the app definitely needs a few fixes. It doesn't even respect the host tempo.

I've tried it in different hosts at different bpm and what it displays has nothing to do with what I hear.

  • bump this up again, as wavescope got a grid but is totally off sync.
is there a oscilloscope auv3 with a grid and synced?

  • Oszillos VST is still reason enough to pipe into a mac for beat synchronized views

Not sure about OP but a lot of us here are iOS only so that’s not possible for a majority.

  • there are alot for win/mac.
all of those i have seen on ios got no host synchronised grid and are, at least for me, usless.

  • Is an old tablet with Windows suitable as an oscilloscope? What is the best software for it?

i wanna stay in ipad/iphone. it seems a host synced oscilloscope with note grid in ios is not that trivial.
    otherwise we already had that.

  • BlueMangoo Osc and FF Pro-G, most responsive ones. TB Spectrogram for most customizable spectral image.

which one of those got a beat grid synced to the host?

Don't kill the messenger. 😅 BlueMangoo Osc. have scale in ms. Can pause / resume the whole thing, trigger on transients or freq. and zoom / stretch / slide as long as you want to see those notes latency. Additionally, you even have spectral multifreq. image in the background.

They probably don’t have a ‘synced beat grid’ but in desperation, you can always bounce the track and compare with whatever grid you want.

  • thats nice. if i could switch from ms to notes i would buy it.
why not 1/16 note values? 🥹

just a lofi diy thought you'll probably hate, how about simply having something else that has a note grid ruler, outside of, behind, either poking out above or below the oscilloscope window visible, positioned and sized and as accurately as is reasonable, matching what happens in the osc window.

    dude, you rule!
iam with stupid for sure.i have flux mini2 which is free, got a oscilloscope AND i beatgrid however fine i want.
the darwin award is mine. 🙈
    thanks man, iam in guilt.
can i spend you a beer, please?

  • i still can't believe it.

no no its not even like that, obviously we want it in one app, because why not, just in the absence, lo fi!
Edit: ohhhhhh flux has oscilloscope, I see, wow

  • no really man, pm me your paypal.

  • flux mini is free, got a oscilloscope, costumizable beatgrid AND a envelope for volume or the filter.

nah you just paid me back by letting me know flux also has oscilloscope! that's something easily overlooked, the caelum website doesn't even say it has that.

  • AND you can have costum beat grid.
