A slow one

This was mostly made on Polyend Play and Digitakt with finishing touches applied in iOS. The “strategy,” if it can be called that, is various loop lengths and degrees of chance.

Video made in VS.

  • I really need to get to grips with VS…
The ‘plodding’ (meant in a good way) bass pulls it all together and the unpredictable nature of the instruments keeps it interesting… nice work 👍

  • Thanks for your kind words @GeoTony. It really means a lot to me.

I will tell you, though, that the visuals in this were not done in VS.

What you are seeing is a slowed-down clip of falling feathers altered in various ways by LumaFX.

Regarding VS, it’s pretty easy to get pleasing results even if, like me, you don’t RTFM. 🙂

  • Now Isee that I wrote that the video was made in VS.

    I don’t know why I wrote that!

Great user of chance/random mechanics and, as ever, your unique way with complementary visuals. I like the mysterious vibe of this… I picture a slow exploration of a long shuttered house, at the heart of which lies a secret.

I’m interested in both the pieces of hardware you used, but I fear my RTFM phobia would prevent me understanding them well enough if I took the plunge. Electron gear in particular has such a Marmite rep for difficulty, and I’m such a techno wimp.

    Really, really,intriguing piece.

Simply lovely and relaxing with a sense of mystery. After a long trying day of producing music and going through nicotine withdrawal (I dumped out my vaping rubbish Wednesday afternoon), I needed this quiet respite.

  • Love this!!! Sometimes ( or always) we need to slow down a bit!!

  • Lovely feathers.
Goes so well with your creation, slow is fast!!!
I agree, slowing down is always a good idea!
    Thanks for this beauty!

  • @Svetlovska I will tell you that I am not a RTFM person either. However, I did buy the AskAudio course (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/explore-course-for-digitakt/id1408212268) and I found it very helpful in getting the basics under my fingers.
