Will Korg finally update to AUv3 because of Logic Pro coming to iPad
I really hope they do otherwise when Logic Pro comes Wavestation and M1 are getting deleted.

Yeah, as I said in another thread, it's "shit or get off the pot" time for a lot of software shops currently playing footsie with iOS, and Korg is definitely in that camp.
I like your thinking.
Already uninstalled in preparation for a professional music app! Korg has lost out now.
No. they won’t
LOL. I suspect you are right.
I know it's shocking to some people, but a lot of companies could care less what Apple are doing with their own apps.
It’s also shocking that a lot of companies could care less about their own apps! 😉
I care less about KORG since I have so much great Software on iOS - Buttensynth beeing a Pigments and Modwave killer.
That's the real story here.
It seems that many music hardware don’t care a lot Korg, Yamaha , Akai , Arturia…. How many old pricey not updated are still in the AppStore, …lol Roland I don’t know with Zenbeat ?
Moog do a great job at the opposite of other.
The whole Korg Module pay structure sucks. It’s got an excellent synth hidden behind the interface but they don’t release the synth. For things like Audio Modeling Swam sounds, I can kind of forgive this - not totally - because their market is niche. But in the case of Korg Module, no. Just make an expensive synth and give people access to all the parameters, instead of making them pay hundreds, maybe thousands, of dollars for what are basically Romplers.
I doubt it, I’ve moved on from their non Auv3 app, I have almost all their apps and the only one I still use is Module Pro and every once in a while Gadget. I have a some Korg hardware but their IPad glory days are over for me.
I really really like Electribe Wave as well. And iWavestation still has a special place as it’s one of my favorite synths ever in general. But imo, when it comes to that analog sound, Mono/Poly and Polysix just don’t compare to something like iVCS3, Mela, Model 15, etc.
Preach brother! In a perfect world I’d really love to have both, but if they would only just remove the training wheels and give us full parameter access, I would be somewhat happy. That’ll never happen though. Korg has kind of adopted the toxic business models ushered in by the past years of the gaming industry. Restrict as much as the stupid consumer will let you get away with, and then charge them an arm and a leg for as little content as possible.
Why would they update to AUv3?
They didn't release any AUv3s to work with Cubasis, AUM or any other of the DAWS on iOS.
What is it about Logic Pro iOS that might motivate them to release Auv3s?
I’ve bought every Korg Module soundpack. You’re right but they DO sound great though
Instead they will focus on rainbow/red/black etc. version of MicroKorg hardware
They sell a desktop version of Gadget where the gadgets are AUs. Sooner or later they will have to make that Apple Silicon friendly….
You would think that would be the case.
Well, they "might" do that but not sure they "have to".
How much development have they done on the Mac vesrion of Gadget lately? I don't recall it being updated for a long time. A dead product with no future just left in the app store (like the iOS version)?
Like everyone else, I'd love to see updates and new Gadgets released. But I'm not holding my breath...
Everyone on here’s losing their minds over Logic, but Gadget being updated with new features and gadgets would be way more exciting for GadgetHeads. Not happening though. If it does I’ll eat my iPad Pro.
Gadget, how many posts did that thread accumulate in the climax of hysteria in its day, now castigated to the bowels of App Hell, the irony is so hilarious.
I think it was Hemmingway who said:
“an app dies twice; once when it receives its last update and again when it is mentioned for the last time on the AB forum”
It's not like Logic coming out is making Gadget worse or better. Plus it won't run on most iPads in circulation anyway, while Gadget happily will.
Also, what's this need for AUv3 support? AUM supports AUv3 and you can sequence midi in Gadget and send to anything hosted in AUM, plus you can sequence everything in Gadget using Xequence. Even host Gadget in AUM and process with effects and so on. AUv3 would be a convenience, but not an actual gamechanger - because everything can already be accomplished, just with a bit more work for some things.
Those like myself who are reliant on using onscreen keyboards on phone since we don’t have external controllers , well, we kinda need that auv3 support in our DAWs to be able to do anything .
No
I hope korg releases their entire collection.
