vocal reverb/delay sidechain compressor in AUM... possible?

Looking to do something like this in AUM for my live vocal channel. Any ideas how to go about it?

I just had a peek through the video - but the presented technique seemed to rely on side-chaining and dynamic EQing with FabFilter Pro-Q3.

The full FF Pro-Q3 is available on IOS and AUM supports MultiBus AudioUnit Instances:

In this setup, the first mixer track contains a file player with a drum beat loop that is routed to an FF Pro Q3 instance with a single dynamic EQ.
The strength of the EQing is controlled by the mic input of the second mixer track that is routed to the side-chain entry of the same Pro-Q3 instance (found under MultiBus AudioUnit Instance of AUMs FX selector).

    • The white, filled spectrum visualization is the of the drum beat
    • The red line is the spectrum of the side-chain input from the mic
    • The green shaded area is the max dynamic EQ change
    • The yellow line the current dynamic EQ change

The mixer track 3 (CHAN 3) was only added to visually move the other tracks more to the left

So why not just follow the instructions of the video ? But maybe i skipped over the relevant part that you had a question to, or you are searching a solution without FF Pro Q3 ?

  • Thanks for the reply - I don't have FF Pro Q3 but will look into it - I've been using TB Compressor

  • I now watched through the video and managed to build a similar setup - all shown steps were also possible on the iPad and they showcased how to cleverly convert the EQ curve generated from the EQ Match feature into a dynamic side-chained ducking with only a few touches by manipulating all points of the curve at the same time.

    .

ToneBusters also offers the advanced TB Equalizer with side-chaining and dynamic EQ - but that doesn‘t have the EQ Match feature.
