Re the hifi… the MBL speaker shown isnt even the biggest / best / most expensive (delete as appropriate) they do… try this one (this is just one channel)…

The rug?
While this is endlessly fascinating and ultra nerdy to boot, I would never appreciate this. After 30+ years of playing rock and roll my ears are shot for the ultra hi-fi. I did an online test once and I couldn't tell the difference between a 128 mp3, a 320 mp3 and a wav file with headphones on.
A solid pair of monitors will do me just fine. Oh well - too many good times I suppose. To be fair, the dude in the video doesn't look like he's had a day of fun in his entire life!
