Noob question. Will we be able to use midi plug ins such as 4 pockets Euclidean or ZOA in Logic?

Things like the bud type apps? I can’t find an answer tried the manual but can’t see anything?

  • I use ZOA in Logic on my Mac so apparently it works :sunglasses:

  • Phew! I had a wobble there for a second. I also use midi echo but could never use it with GarageBand but really easy in Cubasis.

  • Best practice (for me so far) has been to create a track stack and host ZOA at the top level of the stack and set each of the underlaying tracks to receives on different channels.

The 'Note Repeater' acts as a Midi Echo.

We'll have to wait and see how things look on the iPad once its out :sunglasses:

I asked the same question to Patrick GB Guide as he has an exclusive video preview from Apple and said Apple agreed he could answer any questions to 3rd parties to what was what. He came back and said they only showed Apple stock plug-ins. Also the midi AU box that usually appears in the mixer people have said wasn’t showing in the main video Apple pushed out. When wait with baited breath and fingers crossed they are included.

  • Hmmmm. This could be the inherent problem that means it’s not the all in one box I had hoped for…

I think it'll gain more new features over time, just like the regular Logic has gotten over the years :sunglasses:

  • That’s ok for you young people of today. I’m old and sick and tired of workarounds some of us can’t wait years 😂😂

We can all take it for a 30 day trial for a spin when it drops.
I have a feeling we'll be positively surprised :sunglasses:

    11 days to go...

I’m still looking forward to it as well. I will no doubt opt for the annual payment but the midi thing will take the gloss down a notch or two

I'll see how far I can take it without relying on 3rd party plug-ins...
(Apart from a few free effects and synths I'm mostly using the stock stuff in Logic).

The built-in plug-ins go quite far already and one of the best 'midi utility' Auv3 plug-ins by far (my opinion) is Mela 4 which I've tested quite extensively on desktop Logic. It's more of a modular midi-processor when used like that in addition to being a synth and audio effect.

My main focus will be on sampling, automation and audio/midi editing...

Weirdly ZOA on my Mini M1 doesn’t show in my Live plugin list, but if I launch it in standalone mode, the Live channels pick up the MIDI in that way. Haven’t tested it in Logic.
