iPad with op-1 field and thx-6 question

Has anyone figured out a way to connect both the op-1 and tx6 to an iPad through usb?
Currently I have the tx--6 going into the iPad and I just plug the op-1 into one of channels of the mixer (thx-6) which is cool but I’d like to have both going through usb.
I guess the bottom line is, has anyone found a usb device that will allow both to be plugged in? It seems like this isn’t really possible at the present time.

Actually this is exactly what I’m looking for but not sure it will work. I guess I’ll be the Guinea pig and I’ll get back to you all.

  • Dumb question, but if you’re connecting the op-1 directly to the iPad via a hub, why do you need the TX mixer?

  • If I connect the op-1 directly to the iPad I get feedback when trying to use any of the effects. My goal is to be able to use the thx-6 as audio interface but at the same time some route audio back into the op-1 4 track.
Basically process op-1 into borderlands and then at the same time record that back into the op-1. I doubt this is possible really.

one at a time. btw you can loopback with tx6 a little bit that might help you... or add an iphone to your setup.

@colorsinspace - you can't connect two audio devices at the same time to an iOS device. No hub is going to help you with this. iOS only supports one audio device at a time. The last one plugged in wins. So, you will have to solve this in some way on the mixer itself, or with another device, or with loopback of some kind.

It's rumored that iOS 17 will overcome this limitation. But for now you'll have to work within that.

  • Yeah I just read this somewhere else as well. Thx for the heads up. It makes sense that ios17 will change things cause of Logic. Crossing fingers!

I’m considering this to avoid the loopback problem. Haven’t jumped on it yet though.

Seemingly better, simpler, and cheaper on the ‘zon:

For $12 I’m jumping on that and will report back how it goes.

  • The USB-C to 3.5mm splitter didn’t work. Totally independent of the OP-1. The moment I plugged the dongle in, it forced the output to be USB as well. Plus with iOS 16.5, I couldn’t get sound in/out anyways due to the known bug. Grrrr. I guess the only remaining option is crossing our fingers for iOS 17
