Fugue Machine seeking testers for maintenance update
Hey all, I've updated Fugue Machine to 1.5.17. It should be good to go, but it never hurts to have more focus on it before release.
If you'd like to test, thanks in advance and please report any issues that may arise.
This is also an opportunity for anyone interested in testing the app for the first time — I'll keep the TestFlight active for at least a week or two.

Cool! So where is this “More” menu?
the top-right [...] button on the main interface that exposes the popover
Oh, ok so the three dots are what actually turns white when pressed.
I was looking for a button labeled “More”.
Yes that's the one. Updated the description to be more clear, thanks for the feedback.
Hey! I don't know if you are open to feature requests, but I would really love it if there was an option for vertical and horizontal movement of knobs rather than just rotary, would that be possible do you think?
Hey @Gavinski, yes, I'm always open to feature requests, thanks. Different knob interactions is possible, but will have to wait on it for now. I'll def consider after finishing a new project I'm working on. This update is mainly just for maintenance, driven by external forces — deprecated api, built with old sdk, etc..
@Alexandernaut
One feature that I always been wishing for is exposed AUv3 parameters (pretty much all parameters 😎).
I’d love to map Fugue’s parameters to a physical controller and modulate them in Drambo! 🙏🙏🙏
Please do arp pro next!
Yes!
And also the ability to record notes into the timeline.
Happy to see you are thinking about it again. 👍🏻
@Alexandernaut : Hi. Just letting us control the transposition sidebar via MIDi cc would be massive.
Quite agree on exposing parameters, at least the transposition! I miss this function literally every time I use it 😅
This is one of my favorite sequencers. Glad it’s getting updated, thanks for posting!
+1 on this. This would be a huge update alone.
Very happy to be able to test it out, I’ve wanted to buy it for years! It even exceeds my high expectations, beautiful sequencer!
While everyone is asking, probability would be cool. No rush and thank you for a great tool. It’s my go to for the four channel options. Thank you.
PS, I’d pay for a new version to keep in line with supporting devs. You gotta eat too!
+1
Same. I use this app a lot.
Love this app. I would also pay for an upgrade. I would like to see MIDI note input.
Thank you for keeping this app updated. I've had it since the beginning, and it's still one of my favorites.
I would certainly buy it again for an updated version. CC addressable transpose & probability would do it for me, for sure.
I wonder what happened to the super exciting new feature being developed for Fugue Machine years back (2015?) that never appeared?
Intrigued to know what had been planned.
As a workaround for probability and transpose, you can send the output from Fugue Machine through things like Bram Bos Scaler and Art Kerns MidiGATEs, or some of the Mozaic scripts available that do similar things. But yes, I’m sure many would bite at a Fugue Machine 2 with added functionality. One of the all time classic iOS apps for sure!
Extended loop length to 16 bars and copy&paste of a selection of notes would be nice. Maybe you can also add a shift button to select a bunch of specific notes for even more flexibility. Awesome sequencer, I use it regularly since it’s release!
Thanks for all the feedback. I'll revisit fugue machine for sure once I free up, hopefully soon 🔮
There's a shift button in the topLeft corner of the main interface, which allows multi-note selection and copy/paste via panning the selected notes — I guess that's technically duplicate, but hopefully provides the functionality you're after.
Also, and you may already know, there are two ways to pan selected notes: you can use oneFinger and touchDrag any selected note, or use twoFingers and touchDrag anywhere on the piano roll. The twoFinger approach really nice when the notes are physically small due to screen size or pianoRoll zoom settings.
How could I have overlooked copy&paste and shift over the years? This is really embarrassing...🫣 Thanks for the hint.
Edit: I better should’ve had a look at the integrated quick start notes 🤦🏻♂️
Lol it's overlooked often actually, afaik not common to have modifier buttons in a touch interface.

Yes!
@Alexandernaut One thing I’ve always wanted to be able to do in Figure is to have the transpose bar on the right exposed in AUM. It would be awesome to use CC, or a midi note to change the transposition bar, you could really create an entire song by automating its position. Cheers! I’ve Loved and owned this app or a very long time.
Didn’t realize someone beat me to it. I’ve mentioned this before but not sure where. How cool would that be…
is there any difference between this beta in testflight compared to the one in the appstore?
i still have sync issues in the beta version.
