New Moog Model 15 “DYNAMIC DRONES” IAP Video Demo
New Moog Model 15 “DYNAMIC DRONES” IAP Video Demo
Moog just released a 30-preset IAP for their Model 15 app. The pack is called ‘Dynamic Drones’, costs about $5, and is really fantastic. Here I demo the majority of the presets, though not all, in a vid that takes about 15 mins to watch.
Please remember to give it a like if you find it useful or enjoyable.
Stay tuned for my next video which will likely be a detailed spoken walkthrough of Pianoteq 8, which recently became available for iOS. That video will have a giveaway for a winner to receive either a free Stage license (cross-platform, of course) or any Pianoteq instrument of their choice.

Thanks Gav !!!
Thanks a lot!
Useful to have a demo before you buy, as the XinematiX thread made pretty clear! Pity Moog don’t actually let you try the preset banks the way Korg Module does - I bet they’d sell more.
You’d think a company like Moog, which has been so forward thinking with software-only synthesis on all Apple platforms, would at least provide video demos of their own sound packs… Anyway, thanks for doing this.
Model 15 is not a preset synth is really to make your own sound design it is not a synth like Model D or Animoog .
Actually, I’ve found quite a few excellent presets here and from other sources (Patchstorage being one of them). Model 15 is just not as intuitive as Model D. Personally, I don’t think I’ll ever completely “get” patch cord based synths. I rely on the superior technical knowledge of others laying the foundation for my own work.
For me Model 15 has a higher calling: to preserve and pay respect to a legendary synth and company. Very glad they’ve made this investment in synth culture/history. iPad with multitouch is better suited than mouse based interaction for this kind of purpose
Kind of hoped Korg would do the same in AUv3. Came so close…or maybe they will surprise us. Faithful recreation of DW-8000 AUv3 would really be special.
I think the faithful recreation looks absolutely beautiful but have zero desire to learn to patch something like this where you have to scroll up and down so much. I'd far rather spend 5 bucks buying these sounds than putting in the slog needed to learn to patch them personally! Maybe tweak the odd thing here or there, but from scratch, while beautiful to look at, no, no appeal. Something with a limited number of chords, all on one screen, Branches for example, that I can tolerate despite not being a fan of cables over matrixes
You certainly would think so! What are their media team doing ffs? 😂
yes though they provide both the patch / preset view and the historic view that only has limited wide spread appeal…but still good to do.
For some reason I like this part. It feels like an old lady detective in fiction suddenly criticizing things harshly with perfect explanations in small talk.
I know how to patch modulars and would love to patch a hardware Model 15. But this app is not fun to program for me. The UI is beautiful but so impractical. I mostly only use presets, or maybe tweak the filter or delay a little. It is one of the best-sounding synth apps on ios though for sure. I use it a lot.
Ughh. I hate scrolling up and down trying to patch this thing. Whoever came up with this design should be fired. Ha ha ha. I pretty much don’t use this app because of this alone. Although there are a few presets that I really love, so I do use it when I’m looking for those sounds
Yeah, imagine they had completely redisgned the interface, now that really would have been something. But yes, as even this bank shows, the sound quality makes it well worth having and it's worth buying a few preset expansions. I like the Suzanne Ciani one, Symbiotic Equations. Any other ones people would recommend?
the unofficial @childofthecorndog one is amazing:

Ah, anything child of the corndog does is always great, haven't heard of the other guy, will take a look, thnx!
I didn't know him either, but it's a great collection of stuff inspired by west coast, BoC, cortini and experimental blooping
Oh man I’d love a DW8000 on iOS.
This and all Model 15, Model D and Animoog Z IAPs are $1.99 right now
Wow, great to know. Pity I bought it full price. I might stock up on the other ones now! Thnx!
Thanks for this update! I must admit I think this is the appropriate price point when the presets are just a collection of parameter values (so, no sample content) coming from the app company itself. $5 is ok when coming from individuals selling preset packs.
Anyway. Anyone tried the Angular Arps for Model 15, is it worth having?
@Gavinski great idea to make these videos, seeing how little exposure Moog gives to these packs when releasing.
I just bought everything I didn't have for Animoog Z, Model 15 and Model D! Can't argue with this price point. Will check out that arp pack later and let you know @bleep, cheers
The fair price for a bundle of presets is 2 usd , I find bleass preset pack far too expensive don’t know if they make sales too.
Yeah Bleass presets are very overpriced I agree > @BerlinFx said:
its great
