I still really want one of those TX-6 mixers
my digitakt/syntakt/digitone/octatrack costs me around 3k … i think i stick with them, they are many orders of magnitude less portable but many orders of magnitude more capable 🤣
I don’t know how can hipsters play music without field desk... bringing your tiny instruments to the park is so 2020... bring the table!
This is why kids these days can’t afford homes
I can’t afford a Porsche either.
I'd like a TP7 recorder but I don't need one since I just got rid of my old Sony portable stereo recorder. I tried to use the Sony to record nature sounds but it was a fail. There was nowhere I went in California, including deep in the Trinity wilderness, where I could record without man-made noises interfering- cars, trucks, airplanes, chainsaws, unknown machinery, yelling... I gave up.
But the TP7 is a beautiful, well thought out recorder.
I think the TX6 looks interesting but I can't think of uses for it. (I'd like to hear from people about how they're working with it.)
My OP-1f is one of my favorite purchases ever. The anti-TE populism is understandable in one way, their gear is expensive, but everybody's desires are different.
I spend a lot of time kayaking, I have a really nice kayak and a car rack. I could have saved money and gotten a Walmart plastic kayak to throw in the back of my car, but I want a safe, beautiful experience every paddle. On the other hand I have a small home, a simple car, no television... My priorities are different than my neighbor's.
I wonder how long it’ll be before we start seeing £1300 TP-7 purchasers on the Instagram, putting their recorded audio through old lo-res, tape fx so it sounds like a second-hand, £12 Binatone?
I have op-1 field and the tx-6 mixer. I love them both, but when I purchased the mixer I just assumed you would be able to record the op-1’s track separately in to the mixer. i hope someday they will bring this as an update.
i won’t purchase the tp-7 cause my iPhone or iPad can do the same thing and do it better with all the apps. I’m curious to see how people use it though.
TE should have many updates for both the op-1 and the thx-6 over the next few years.
If I had to sell all my gear except for one piece it would surely be the Op-1 field… although I do have a unit with something rattling around inside. I think a loose battery. I’m just too lazy to send it in for repair.😛
Have you found a good use for your TX-6? I also thought it would be able to multitrack from the OP-1f. I was disappointed it didn't, but yeah, they may still bring that. TE seem to update their stuff a lot, I was happy to get a free surprise vocoder days after buying the OP-1f.
I also have the op-1 and tx-6 and for me I love it’s portability and the ability to add an effects loop with my pedals as well as bringing in multiple external sounds to iOS. The tp-7 would have been interesting if it had plug in power for external mics and/or a better internal mic as well as some tape effects that take advantage of the “reel” - maybe in an update. Seems like I can do more just going straight to my iPad. I am interested in the mic. Large diaphragm mic manufactured by Peluso mic lab and all battery powered. It also sounds great based on cuckoo’s limited demo.
The TC Helicon Blender has 6 stereo inputs too and on iOS the inputs show up separately. That's 2x6 or 12 audio inputs.
I've only tried it with Drambo and AUM so far but I guess other DAWs would work as well.
I can see the draw of tiny land studio miniatures…
But I would never pay that price…
NOOOOOOOPE
Not yet but I’m hoping an update brings some cool things!
Ok folks I can’t hold out any longer. I’m lusting so hard over the TP-7 now. Having both the Op-1 field and the Tx-6 it only sense to have the recorder.
Since I’m just traveling around the world these days I’ve decided to sell off my Eurorack and complete the Field package. Well I probably won’t pick up the microphone.
To be honest I don’t even use my laptop anymore for making music I’d rather just use my iPad.
I think with ambient music it’s much easier to mix stuff down because you don’t have to concentrate on making sure all the drums are hitting hard.
It’s really a great time to be alive and really only needing a iPad for music production.
Sorry dude
If u get the tp7 and tx6 you kinda need the cm15 too - and until then get the Tula mic
Nah for real : with the field system you can live in a streamlined world of products , it’s almost unfair to musicians who lived only 5+ years ago…
And it goes without saying the field is the ultimate electronic music making device can I get an amen
It’s friendly syncing with iOS and iPad is a dream
Octachron + autofills + op1F = win
I have the Tula mic! Hahah
I haven’t picked up the Octachron yet but you’ve made me go watch some YouTube videos!
And yeah the op-1 field. It’s magical bro. I’m making a new video, hopefully it will be out today.
I love the TE field stuff!
I have the op1f, OB-4 and the TX-6
Also perfect stuff imo!
Get the OB-4
I got it. I always forget to mention that! Hahah
