Would you get a 1010music Razzmatazz or Electron Samples (or the FM)
No immediate plans for me purchasing one, and I think my ipad has me covered with PLENTY of drums sounds, just looking to complete a small hardware only setup at some point.
If anyone has either model I'd appreciate your hearing your pain points and opinion

The 1010 music boxes look like really fun toys.
When I think about the wire mess on my desktop though, I prefer to pick up my iPad which has the same sounds and many more workflow options if I want.
Plus, a MIDI controller can go a long way.
if you want also perform live your music then elektron is many orders of magnitude better choice - more buttons and knobs for realtime tweaking.. M:S and M:C has almost for every param directly knob or button.. great for live performance
I've tried many different hardware-only setups over the years and tbh I was most productive when I've used just one box.
If there is some kind of generic conclusion then I would prefer a good analog (or VA) synth engine over pure FM (more usable sounds), a ROMpler over samples (instant access) and a good step sequencer over realtime (to experiment with tweaks while a sequence loop is running).
All a matter of taste of course.
I'm currently jamming on a DT keys and a Digitakt. I wouldn't call it the dream combo sound-wise but they do inspire me in a different way than when using software on a screen only. And adding an iPhone to the mix (sequenced by one of the boxes over BT MIDI) as a pure sound module will still keep the hardware feel yet extend the sound palette dramatically.

The elektron boxes are good for that. I was casual price comparing and noticed that the 1010 was only 20-30 dollars more that a single elektron box and offered samples and FM
The 1010 small size does seem really portable - which is perfect for a synth, sequencer and iPad setup
I have a hydrasynth and a Deluge (plus and iPad) so I already have plenty to work with
I do like having separate boxes for separate things though - or just one glass rectangle
It allocates each bit to a particular task so I don’t have to mix and match. Don’t know if that makes sense
