My best decision was on Mac Silicon to use only Logic stock plugins no external VST , with Silicon Mac so many VST were no compatible and some stil running only on Rosetta. It was a nightmare for manu user .
I had no problems at all as I was using only Stock plugins.
It it wise during some months to create songs in Logic iOS only with stock plug ins if you want a compatibility with Logic on Mac .
Model D for sure as I can use way more instances on my M1 iPad than what my Intel MacMini is capable of
@NeuM - iFretless bass works perfectly with the fretless controller, if you have it.
Seems like a bit of run of bad news. Sorry for your loss and best wishes for the furry feeties.
I'm glad you derailed my thread. I think this is more important than petty squabbling over apps, which won't amount to anything once we pass on ourselves someday. See, I'm here for you mate, and I prayed for you that the Holy Spirit may come to comfort you. We all have moments in our lives, seasons in our lives that are dire and tough to get through. Look at what Job went through, lol.
I'm 39 years old, and my mother passed of pancreatic cancer in late 2018 (what would've been her 75th birthday was last Friday), and my dad passed of a second stroke in late 2019 (his first was a brain bleed out, the second was from clotting, and it was a "no win" situation). I know what it's like to go through dark times. They are very tough to get through, but they can also be sometimes the most profound times in our lives that change us and mold us into the people we become today.
Prayer isn't the only thing I offer though mate. If you have a GoFundMe up or a Paypal link I can donate some money to, let me know. Let us know in case others wish to join in.
AH yes, Model D! Marking that down on my list of apps I'd love to use with Logic Pro.
Thanks.

That’s very kind, thank you - though I’ll sub the vet’s bill via the money I’d saved for the iPad or Push 3 plan - that’s off the cards now! He picked up this morning, but at vet’s today - so far x-ray not showing anything, scan later. They think it’s heart related (bloodclot), plus they’ve discovered a thyroid and spine issue. Best case scenario: pills for the thyroid and heart problems to keep him going a bit longer, if the scan later doesn’t pick up anything other than artery thickening.
Sorry to hear about your parents - these things seem to come in waves, so after my sister’s death a few weeks back we’re nervous about what’s next. A few years ago, in the space of a couple of months: my mother-in-law, best mate, two other friends, favourite aunt, and two cousins died, my 7 year old was attacked by a teacher at school, a previous cat had to be put down, and to top it all a house move was cancelled the day before we were due to move, so we had to unpack all the boxes and lost about £9k in fees. Waves! I don’t like the waves!!
Anyway, back to Logic - that’s settled down for me now, hardly any crashes, so if there’s any money left after the vets bills and ongoing medication cost’s I’ll probably keep it on the iPad!
Likewise. In the case of Fabfilter, I bought the full suite on iPadOS but could not bring myself to pay for the desktop versions after I discovered the far more affordable Toneboosters (which I have on both platforms now).
Ach. So sorry to hear of all of these terrible things happening in your family. Wishing you all the best despite these hardships.
And… yes, I completely forgot about iFretless, which I do have and is another excellent way to input this kind of performance data.
I completely understand. I just asked the Lord to make sure it doesn't come in waves this time.
I feel the same about Logic. Was a shock at first what was missing and trying to wrap my head around it despite having had experience the past two weeks with Garageband. 😅 But now it's clicked.
Thank you.
Yeah, iFretless Bass works well - I was going to re-download the Guitar version, but just noticed it's not AUv3, which is a shame.
It's a funny one, that's for sure! I've got the hang now of the basics, so will be delving into the advanced stuff over the next week or so. No crashes now either - I think there's an element of needing to 'settle down' with a bit of use, so seems much more stable now.
The thing I'm trying to decide now - now I realise (mostly) how it works and what it's capable of - is whether it's actually right for what I do. Everything's working (still don't like the slide-over file transfer, mind), and I did a cheesy pop thing in my dinner break, but I need to see if I'll actually use it that much, as my stuff tends to be a bit less 'normal'. That £50 might be better spent elsewhere.
But I'm definitely more impressed than I was yesterday (the crashing didn't help), so maybe over the next couple of weeks I might decide it does fit my workflow after all. Kudos to Apple for providing a free month's trial too.
I do plan to do some "less normal" stuff in Logic Pro myself, given I still love making Ambient music.
Although for Drone Day on Saturday, I plan to use AUM and live performance, but will master the final performance in Logic Pro.
Exactly. I feel Logic Pro is definitely right for me.
Even if just for producing beat-based music and mastering live Ambient.
Butter Synth is pretty crashy for me in Logic Pro right now.
Same. A shame, but eh I'll make it work somehow. 😂
If you write that ButterSynth crashes, the usual will appear again and bite you, so I recommend not to do so.
At least I'm sick of it.
