Volume mix between Launchpad app and DJAY Pro app

Hello! I use both the Launchpad and DJAY Pro apps together on my iPad for djaying.

The current challenge is that the Launchpad app’s volume seems to be rather lower than the DJAY Pro app volume. The consequence being that when I have both apps synced with Ableton link and mix songs between one app and the other, I usually have some challenge in maintaining an equally loud volume because the Launchpad seems to sound way lower.

Is there any solution you can kindly share for having similar volume coming out of maximum volume from both apps, besides running Launchpad on Audiobus and amping its volume through Audiobus’s mixer?

I would rather Not use Audiobus Nor Aum for this intention, because I am using a 2017 IPad and would rather keep the open apps to the fewest and simplest possible solutions.

Thanks in advance, cheers
Ricardo

    Sorry.

    Just said.

    Where do record mix.

Then thought what were the point of answer

but thought maybe you might use a limiter if you add gain.

    So audiobus might be ok.

Audiobus, AUM, or another host app is the only way.
It won't add anything noticeable to your processing overhead.

I was concerned with noticeable added processing. I’m curious: could just increasing the mixer volume on the input (with the Launchpad app) then do the trick or would you recommend I use some AUV3 fx to do that job better? If so, which one specifically might you recommend for increasing the volume without any distortion?

Thanks for the tips, I sincerely appreciate it 🙏

I doubt it makes any appreciable difference how you do things. No app is going to add noticeable processing overhead and no app is likely to distort. The only place you're likely to get clipping is on output if you over-drive it.

The best thing is just to experiment. And, if you run into clipping distortion then cut the loud app rather than boosting the quieter one. (Cutting is preferable to boosting in many cases.)

I wouldn't overthink it too much.
