trnr.ChannelStrip by Ternär (Updated)

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/trnr-channelstrip/id6449458611

AUv3 and Standalone and FREE

ChannnelStrip is a modeled tube preamp with 3 band EQ and a simple oscilloscope.

Controlling dynamics with saturation is an often overlooked technique in music production. ChannelStrip is intended as an end-of-chain effect giving you smooth modeled tube saturation combined with an oscilloscope to monitor how the waveform is compressed. The integrated 3-band equalizer will furthermore help you apply gentle, unobtrusive tone-shaping. Even as a simple distortion effect or equalizer, ChannelStrip will make a great addition to your FX collection.

Features:

•Modeled tube saturation with character control
•Gentle 3-band equalizer
•Oscilloscope
•Adjustable oversampling factor

  • Thanks! Looking forward to hearing this.

  • Oh cool! Have been looking for a standalone channel strip outside of mixbox. Gonna try this out tonight and see how it goes.

Remember, the magic with this one is..place it at the end/bottom of your chain 🔈🔉🔊

Haven’t been able to try it yet - busy weekend - but I’m gonna be doing so here shortly. How does it compare to other channel strips on iOS? AD and Ryo are the only other 2 I can think of.

  • Any others getting noise when oversampling on?
    iOS 16.4.1 iPhone 8+

Think that update doesn’t relate to oversampling issue.

Like the new look a lot!

  • Noise fixed, update out 👍🏻

  • Ok, so why is this called a channel strip, it’s an eq, right? What do I overlook.

There are different kinds of EQ used for differing purposes. A three band EQ is useful for both broad adjustments to instruments and how they sit in the mix ( cutting the low or high end and adjusting where its mids are focused) -- Pultec EQ's aren't often full band or parametric EQ's like FabFilter. FabFilter CAN function like other EQ's but its focus is on surgery or FX or other things not suited to "simpler" channel strip or end chain EQ's

Typically Channel Strips can also have compression gain and other tone shaping.

  • @Icoustik @audiblevideo Thanks. I’ll give it a spin.

Anyone still getting the noise issue when oversampling? I am. Furthermore when changing back samplerates it seems like the entire app doesn’t work anymore(volume drop amd such when it is engaged).
