Each track in AUM can be recorded to a separate file.
First arm all the needed tracks for recording (Tap ‘R’ next to each channel output icon).
Tap Record in the transport bar and let the project play thru, stop at the end.
This creates audio-files for each armed track.
Import the files to Logic using drag’n’drop from the Files.app slide-over.
After importing five stems in logic pro for iPad, I wanted to chop up stems to 2 bar or 4 bar Live Loops in order to ultimately perform live remixes of my album material. Forgive my ignorance, but how is it that I start basically get a CPU overload Notification before making any progress.
I have been able to perform short sets with AUM on regular iPads in the past.
I'm on a third generation 2018 12.9 iPad Pro with 1 TB Storage capacity.
What am I supposed to be freezing in order to use logic pro if I am barely getting started.
I have been using Ableton since about 2008, but aging with quadriplegia has kept me away from the computer as my iPad pro has always been easier to interact with.
Am I being ambitious in my desire to use logic pro for iPad for live performance?
You are not ambitious you can do perfectly live performance, it shouldn’t freeze , someone should help you there. Are you sure of the rate as Logic is by default 48 for a new project you can set up to 44,1 and perhaps your stems where 44,1 ?
I am like you because of health problems I should go to only IPad it is too difficult for me to use laptop and track pad or mouse anymore so I hope a lot in Logic ios.
Speaking of importing into Logic Pro, is it me or can we not import IR’s into space designer?
For this purpose and with this hardware, you might do better with Loopy Pro.
Seems to be an bug there, in Space Designer - the manual declaring that import is possible (if I remember right)…
Tried everything to import custom IR to Space Designer without success. Also I cannot find anything in the manual about importing custom IR.
At least AltiSpace2 works just fine.
So it does! Thanks!
I reported the Space Designer issue as a bug.
According to the manual (in the plug-ins section on Space Designer) you should be able to import IRs by tapping on the orange button, but it doesn't work so it's probably a bug.
Saw that in the manual, they are referring to an internal browser to select IRs which are already there.
(Excerpt from the manual. p.589)
“When you first tap the Sampled IR button, the Browser opens, enabling you to choose an impulse response. “
What you should be able to do, is to import custom IRs in ‘Space Designer’ designated browser location. Drag n drop from ‘Files’ won't work, also from Logic audio track.
Kinda is not a bug, everything from manual ‘Works as intended”™.
I don’t trust the manual for iPad (totally speaking) - they are referended to Mac in more than one place in the manual…
So, both Logic for iPad AND the manual needs some update in near futures…
Agree, hope ‘Space Designer’ is just the first iteration, made to work asap. From the ‘Sample Alchemy’, it is clear that the framework is ready and kicking.
I couldn't even get the internal browser to open when tapping that button, does it work for you?
Agreed that getting files in and out of Logic is very limited though, Apple needs to open the app up way more than it has.
Nope, it didn't work. I opened the browser manually.
I realize that there are other apps that could make this easier, but the learning curve is steep. I did find that I could import all of the stems per song, chapter been to live loops in order to perform newer versions. The time between loading projects is fairly minimal and I will just have to accept.
