now the behringer Spice has been announced, can we have a cheap Moog sound studio!?

Behringer just announced their Subharmonicon clone:
https://synthanatomy.com/2023/05/behringer-spice-a-clone-replica-of-the-moog-subharmonicon-semi-modular-synthesizer.html

How are the Behringer moog sound studio clones? could theybe a viable alternative to the originals for a third of the price?

although, there’s been subharmonicon clone patches on eg Audulus etc for a while, in a way the iOS/macOS community cloned it first https://forum.audulus.com/t/polyrhythmic-subharmony-generator-subharmonicon/3248

  • I sold my M32 and now own a trusted, sturdy, hideous, bright orange Behringer Crave after seeing reviews like this

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=JexfJSNVQmM

It's insanely similar sounding and the Crave is actually more midi-flexible than the M32! You can get great overlays that make it look like something out of a Hainbach lab too :#

I figure with the cash saved (it was only £168) I can now get the Edge but I'm more super excited by the Spice - I didn't even know it was coming!

I ordered an Edge on Saturday. I think a Neutron is on the cards some time shortly too. 😁

O my, stop it, stop it, sToP!!!! :p Actually buying the M32 was my worst case of GAS ever ever ever yet at these Behringer knockoff prices the modular fun I will have with all three feels so reasonable - sorry MooG

Is this for Audulus 3, 4 or both?

  • I said it 1000 times, but it's always the same with Behringer and it can be really long.

    "Behringer Spice availability is TBA"

Long time ago, they annonce a Moog Model 15 like synth TBA. Where is this synth now? Can we buy it 1 year later?

Guess that remains Moog's advantage... they can sell you a synth today if you want it.

  • NeuM stop it :D - I had forgotten about the BRC2000 - I'm sitting here busily installing the new awesome Microfreak firmware and instead of enjoying it I'm lusting after what I do not have - back to therapy for me o:)
