"I Wanted To Be There For You", collab with Richard Yot
Another collaboration with @richardyot
Richard sent me a rough idea of his song and let me free to build an arrangement for it.
After receiving his final vocals, I sent him a mix suggestion and the audio stems and he finalized the mix.
Hope some of you will like it.
Lyrics in the spoiler
Stop, think, tell me
What we both see
You know I want to help you
But couldn't make it real
A needle left out by mistake
I saw you trying not to shake
And so you want to hide it
You’re trying to deny it
Hope, and hide
Let it slide
I wanted to be there for you
I want the things you wanted too
But there is so much sadness
There’s nothing I can do
Lie, steal, shoot, deal
Numb yourself you can’t feel
You are just a ghost now
You’re no longer real
I’m watching you it’s sad to see
A friend who laughed so easily
You are nothing but a shadow
A cold and empty shell
Hope, and hide
Let it slide
I wanted to be there for you
I want the things you wanted too
But there is so much sadness
There’s nothing I can do

Sad and beautiful. Excellent arrangement. I loved the tasteful vocal harmonies. Clean, nice mix. I enjoyed this very much. Great work!
Very well done, all around. Loved the vocals and the deep, layered, spacey arrangement and mix.
The first of a genre: “Yot Rock”
footage of Jankun and I working on this track:
Thanks for listening, I sent @JanKun a rough demo with some out-of-tune vocals and a guitar playing a simple chord progression, and he transformed it into this beautiful cinematic piece, it was really great to watch it develop.
This sounds beautifully tragic.
I’d like to know more about that photo. I realize it was meant to be tongue and cheek, but I’d still like to know the origin.
It’s from Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina’s album Full Sail.
And which one are you?
@richardyot is the one smiling with long hair, I am the other
I listened again and thought l had about my comment. I would like to change it from beautifully tragic to tragically beautiful.
Beautiful collab , actually as an amateur I got the chance to collab with some friends and it change a lot what I can do and push me up
Thank you for listening ! Sad story indeed. So easy to get lost in this life...
Thank you for the kind words. It seems we're on the same side 😉!!!
Ha! I’m very fortunate to have a ‘57 which I bought nearly 40 years ago. Such an incredible guitar. On her right now practicing for my weekly lesson.
I guessed it is pretty old lady by the headstock... Mind sharing a full picture of this beauty queen ?
Thank you for the repeated listens. Both comments are appreciated !
Great work @JanKun @richardyot. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for listening and for following on SoundCloud ! I also believe collabs are a good way to give the best. Especially when collaborating with someone who's work you really like.
Here’s one…
Thank you for listening !
Wow, looking great for a 57' baby !
Great track, another fantastic collaboration… you just need to retreat to a chateau in France now and produce the double album 😊
Thank you for listening Tony ! Apparently @richardyot is preparing le château, recording sessions should start soon 🍷
Yeah, once we dock the yacht in Marseille we'll be heading to the chateau:
(and before anyone asks, he's Keef and I'm Gram)
Ahh, didn’t know you and JanKun was a part of Bee Gees! 😎😎😎👍
Not Bee Gees, although there is some similarity. That’s Loggins & Messina.
Yeah ! I am a giant Bourbon pouch !
And you let all your teeth fall out!
(Still, somehow you ended up in a better place than I did...)
You can get no satisfaction!
