[Solved] KB-1 not recognizing notes consistently

I've installed KB-1 and set it's MIDI output to a synth channel. On some of the keyboards, it seems to work normally. On others, it's only recognizing one out of ten taps. My Arturia hardware keyboard is mapped to this same channel and works as expected.

Ideas?

Check it’s not set to MPE.

That said, I’ve found that outputting to a Korg SQ-1 used for MIDI-CV conversion I get stuck notes with KB-1 that I don’t get with AUM’s keyboard (for example). Never got to the bottom of that. Seems to work better sending to a Mother-32, FWIW.

  • Hmm -it wasn't set for MPE.

On which keyboards does it work normally with which doesn’t it work?

What are you sending the midi to?

Are you running it as a standalone or in a host?

If in a host, which one?

  • Solved. It's got something to do with my routing. I've created a few session and it's working fine.
Although, I'm not exactly sure what the problem is, I don't think it's the keyboard.

If you provided more info…such as screenshots of the details and routings, we’d have a better sense of what might be going on.

  • I believe what is going on is that I have some sort of conflict with the Tonality AUV3. I use Tonality to allow one finger chords for a few of our band's songs. Tonality is sending MIDI chord notes to the Korg Module AUV3. I made KB-1 another MIDI source to the same Korg Module channel and that didn't work. If I made a separate Module audio channel and connected KB-1 to it there is no problem. So, it's just a simple work around...I need to duplicate the audio channel to use for KB-1.
