A Happy Birthday Cover (created in Gadget 2, Mastered in Logic Pro)

So my musical hero and friend DJ Sash! (Sascha Lappessen) is about to celebrate his birthday in Belgium this Saturday, and I figured I'd make him this silly little gift. He can choose to spin it or not during his performance. Here's how I produced it in Gadget...

First of all, the drums. The kick and snare-clap sound is London, and the sidechain trigger, hi hats, and crash are Recife. The "boom" sounds are Amsterdam. The Tom Fill is from Gladstone, and the noise riser is Wolfsburg.

The deep bass is Dublin, and the sidechained "pad bass" is Wolfsburg.

The main trance lead is Montpellier, and the secondary trance lead is Phoenix. (Since Phoenix has a thinner sound, it's better for the 16th note arps.)

The strings are from Marseille, and the Music Box is Glasgow.

I mixed everything down within Gadget itself and exported to Logic Pro.

Then I screen recorded the "happy birthday" message from Google Translate in Dutch, French, German, and English, popped those into Koala, recorded them, and popped that into Logic Pro and added a bit of reverb and EQ to taste and adjusted the volume so it fit the instrumental.

Finally, on the master itself, I placed the Vintage Opto Compressor, Barkfilter Tripleband, Adaptive Limiter, and the Loudness Meter to get it up to around -8 LuFS (which is the desired loudness level for EDM tracks to be performed sadly, or I would've just kept it at -14 LuFS to keep the dynamics).

I tell you, personally speaking Logic Pro is perfect for me for mastering music.

Comment below what you think of this cheesy track, lol, and enjoy.
