Logic Pro: What happens after the trial period / subscription?

Does Logic Pro no longer work after the trial period / subscription or can I no longer access projects (I don't have a Mac)?

If access is no longer possible, how do you export projects beforehand so that you can import them into another DAW (e.g. Cubasis)?

Comments

  • you just have to export them before trial ends or pay.. no other option

@Iskander - read this from the manual, Dendy have wrong here…

If you cancel your subscription, you’ll continue to have full access to all Logic Pro features
until the end of your billing period. After your billing period ends, you’ll still be able to
preview your projects in the Projects screen and export projects and their source media,
but all other functionality will be limited until you resubscribe.

  • oh sorry.. totally missed the point you can export even after trial/sub ends.. quite surprising

  • Manual page 51

I believe it said something about “previewing” the projects before? They may have changed that..

They have changed it in the pdf, page 51 originally mentioned “previewing”
I assume @ErrkaPetti also quoted from a pdf downloaded earlier?

So, have Apple uploaded a new manual since release?

    Seems pretty unlike Apple…

I think so. You still have your “old’ pdf download? Compare page 51 to the current one

If now Apple have editing the user guide/manual to iPad, I hope they also gone thru it and remove all places that reference to Mac - really disturbing…

  • Perhaps initially the “preview and export” was just copied over from Final Cut’s manual:

  • Strange. Apple lets me have Logic Pro iPad for free? I canceled my subscription in March. This morning I opened the app and it still works. I can create and save files. I can airdrop the files to my new MacBook M3 Pro, where Logic Pro is installed. Is anyone else experiencing this?

You should double-check. Maybe you didn't actually cancel.

They've never offered a year trial for Logic on iPad or desktop.

Did you have a monthly or yearly subscription?
If it was a yearly subscription and you cancelled early you would still have access until whenever the renewal date is.

  • I think I remember @dendy mentioning similar experience shortly after the launch, not sure if he still has access after so many months.
You can always request help from apple :)

  • They'll fix it so that it stops working, but only if you agree to pay for the months that you weren't charged. 😉

Definitely something weird with Logic on iPad my subs ran out in March and I still have full access. All the packs and instruments work and I can record. Haven’t used it much so not sure export works. I think a few accounts fell through the loop for the March period.

  • This topic reminds me of an period back in time:

I got an offer from Swedens biggest morning newpaper - if I just pay 10SEK (one dollar/euro) I would get that newspaper every sunday for two month - 120 month later, the last one droped my mailbox because I moved…

    I have low moral… 480 newspaper for almost nothing… I feel ashamed when I think about it…

I have checked the bank account. nope. this is strange, it is a fluke or something. I'm going to shut up now. ;-)
