Anyone use altstore.io? For side loading apps on iPad.

I want to do some retro gaming on my iPad and heard that I can use altstore to side load retroarch. Is it safe? Has anyone used it?

Some people is running Windows 11 on iPad thru sideloading and the app UTM, so, it would be really easy and ”safe” to run some retro games also…

I did try it as an experiment but found it too annoying to use for any length of time for anything.
I prefer using Linux or Raspberry Pi for retro gaming.

What bits did you find annoying?

just the whole process, I think you have to login occasionally for it to keep working. I can't remember the full process now.. it has to communicate with the desktop server or something.
I think when iOS 17 comes this will become unecessary as sideloading will hopefully be allowed.
