Let’s pretend it’s limitless. I’d be willing to spend a bit on it if that was the only option

  • Iconnect audio 4c.

It will power ipad. Be midi to both devices. A controller can control apps on both devices. 5 pin and usb. The usb host on audio4c, can power a single bus powered midi controller or a usb hub for more usb controllers. You can route audio. I think 10 mono channels from say ipad to mac or 4 stereo channels from ipad to mac or vice versa. You can use sequencer apps or vst to sequence the other machine synths. You could use an mpe keyboard app to mpe control a mac synth etc Its up to you which daw or hosts you might use.

    Theres a matrix like aums.

I had to get a call from iconnect and they sorted what I needed. Its just a few matrix settings.

But have saves of my settings now.

Which you make from either desktop sofware for the audio4c or an audio4c ipad app.

Can link you the pics if you buy.

    yep. iConnect 4c.

It would be the cost of a USB cable if/when Apple makes it so that you can use an audio interface while using iDAM, but that isn't the case yet.

Many thanks. This is looking like the answer. From what I can gather the audio4c is like the newer version of the audio+… are they basically the same thing but 4c is better??

I guess main feature is usbc vs usb.

I got a usbc audio4c but dont have usbc devices.

usbc to usb cable and cck3s. cck3 is for the white apple power cable then the other port goes to audio4c for audio and midi.

The cck is lightning at ipad connection.

If you got a usbc ipad.

    Probably need an audio4c.

They are the same, except for USB external connections.
The whole thing is built around a (one) specific audio chipset and not a general design.
But technically it‘s brilliant and puts Apple‘s IDAM to blush... o:)

  • You can use either with a USB-C iPad, but the older iConnectAudio+ will not charge a USB-C iPad. For that, you need the new 4c model.
