Nice! So how long does the summer sale last? :)

EDIT: Just noticed Jordan Rudess. One of the biggest names in the early days of iOS music creation! Awesome. :)

  • Great offer from @VirSyn

  • Thank You.
I Think this is the best samples You Can get by now.
The bonus option is a fine Way to give discount.

  • Seaboard get's the best out of XinematiX with it's MPE capabilities:

  • Today I had my first longer session with XineMatix (been busy with other apps)…

    Lovely sounding instruments!

@virsyn - one thing that I miss is the ability to blend among all three patches loaded.
As it is now it’s blend B to A or B to C - I think it would be better to have a triangle to morph the sound in - A B C in respectively “corner” of the triangle…

Keep up the good work - this fabulous app can be a little better!

  • Hey @VirSyn do you get to choose which pack you get for free or does is each purchase come with a particular free pack?

Loving the sounds so far in the trial run.

  • It’s looking like I will want more sounds and hopefully an ADSR set of controls. The Offset and Attack controls help add a bit of punch. Almost all of the samples on offer are “woofy” and don’t have a crisp, percussive attack. So, adding a more packs with wood drums (pitched would be really nice), biting brass attacks, taiko and other world drums would be nice additions.

I have already lost a few of my first demo packs and I made the mistake of starting with choirs so I’m nit sure which one I really liked the best… be advised to take a few notes and rate packs you demo so you can prioritise your subsequent purchasing.

How do you lose a demo packs? Is it a seven day trial for the downloaded pack? Hmm, if so that is pretty cool. I thought it was seven days on the global unlock.

The 7 day clock is applied on a per pack basis. So, you can evaluate a pack fairly and make the buy/pass decision as you work your way through all the packs. It would be wise to only listen to a few when you are ready to make a buy. But definately rate them as you go.

Ahh that is pretty cool, makes sense. Will definitely be giving some a try this weekend.

Yeah I’ve got a running list on my notes app of which ones I like the most. Not sure if or when I’ll buy any but it’ll be useful to have.

  • Maybe useful if ppl share here what the most impressive packs are - might help those with less time focus in on the best ones to try first

  • Thanks For the Bonus Idea I Got some of the Pack Thay Are undoubtedly great by Far !!!!!
I like to mention that the sharing from one device to another between iPads work fine between iPad iPhone it’s not And the problem is on the iPhone Sadly.I hope an update will correct the issue
    Thank you !!!!!!

  • @VirSyn I like the sounds I'm hearing in the demos a lot. I like the general idea of the app. But I do wonder, why doesn't KARO make a modern orchestral library? I know it's extremely expensive and time-consuming, so it's not something most people can do on a whim. Is that something you've thought about or talked about? I'd love to see one.

If you have the ability to fade between three dynamic layers, well that's all that Spitfire BBCSO has, and it sounds fine to me. The limited medium-softish dynamic range of that library works well when paired with the limited number of dynamic layers. Overall, it sounds very "stock" to me, which is a good thing to aim for on a platform where the other options are basically Staffpad, SWAM, and iSymphonic.

I understand that most of these sound sets probably predate the app, but I'm just telling you my thoughts, as a person who loves to create create this exact type of cinematic, orchestral, ambient experimental sound, and pair it with elements of rock, pop, hip hop, electronica, jazz, and whatever else.

The prices are not that bad, considering how good some of the sounds are. I'll buy a few packs at some point. I respect what you're going for with the discount system, but I don't understand it.

It does make it convenient to blend between 3 mixes of a full orchestra, or combine an orchestral sound with a "foley pad" type of sound.

One little note of feedback, I'm using Xinematix on a 2020 iPhone SE, and I had the brightness turned down, and I didn't see the octave numbers on the keys at first. Design-wise, it looks a little awkward to see a label being covered by a drop shadow. When I activate the key and it turns yellow, I can read the label pretty easily from a distance.

Is this intended behavior, that I am not able to purchase a pack until its trial ends?

As you can see, I started with Full Orchestra. It would be nice if you could eventually add a view more akin to Korg Module, or better yet, figure out a way to list the names of the patches in the app, or at least on the website. I would recommend that you look at what information orchestral library companies usually provide for their products.

You might want to have a YouTube series where you demo every single patch, because there are times in life when I'm not sure if I want to buy a preset pack, and I can't find a good demo of it, so I don't buy it. Yes, I can download a trial, but it's more convenient to hear the sounds used "as intended" or "to their full potential". Luckily, these KARO sounds are pretty versatile. But sometimes, a preset isn't meant to be played with, so much as it's meant to add body to a timbre, or be used as an ornamentation, with a purpose that is only made clear by the context of the other sounds, or the octave used.

Personally, I am a big fan of the business model used by Splice and Loopcloud. When musicians talk about not liking subscription models, I think that's the exception. They also have a great system for previewing sounds.

This has been a long post, so thank you for your time in reading it, and I wish you and KARO the best of luck with your rompler. By the way, this type of app often does have an XY pad for fading between sounds, in addition to the dynamic layer mixer slider...but I can use my own. I like how you can add a curve to the slider's movement by moving your finger horizontally, or add a curve to your finger's movement to make the fade linear.

  • Just A Thought
Maybe A Soprano And Tenor Dedicated Bank Would Be Great !!!
    Thanks !!!!!

The Libraries We Get For Free Are Like One Time Purchase Or For Limited Time Only
    Also
Why The The Bonus Libraries Are Green Saying Bonus But The Ones We Bought Are Just Green Excuse My Silly Question But I’m Just Curious
    Thanks !!!!!!

  • Hi !!
Is There A Way Or A Workaround To Make Zones For Each Sound
Also When We Save A Sound The Position Of The Sound Mix Slider Can Be Saved With The Preset
As An Old School Composer(WaveStation,M1,K1,K4,SY,Cubase On Atari etc)The More I Play The More I Love This App
It’s Sound is Great Also Very Good For Live
    But
It Has Its Limitations As I mentioned above And A Few More Limitations But I Like To Think That XinematiX Will Become A Great App The Developers Have Provided Mone Then Once That They Respond Very Quick !!!!!!
It’s Not Fair The Rating It Has On AppStore 2.7 !!!!
Yes The Pricing Was An Issue But With The Summer Sale This Settle Things RIGHT !!!
(I Was One Of The Complaining People For The Pricing)
For Me This Is A 5 🌟 Plus App And Maybe People That Rated This App Poorly Maybe They Should Reconsider
    PS
I DO NOT BENEFIT IN ANY WAY FROM VIRSYN I JUST EXPRESS MY OPINION
    Thank You !!!!!

  • Don’t see all the demos in AUM. Anyone else having a similar problem?

I think the demos may be standalone only but I haven’t seen confirmation directly from the dev.

  • A New Update Is Out 1.15
The Sharing Works Fine between iPads
    But Not on the iPhone
I hope this can be fixed !!!
    Thanks

  • So how do you buy a pack? The 2 packs I’m interested in only say how much time in the trial I have left with no option to buy. Do you have to wait until the trial period is over to buy it? That kinda sucks because you can’t use the trial packs in AUM.

  • Demo,s do seem to be standalone only which is a shame.

They don’t wanna people easily sample their instruments, and, that’s OK for me…

Tap on the instrument in the shop, and not on the demo button…
After you tap the instrument, it’s a little delay for two to three seconds…

  • I can really recommend the Choir instrument patches into Xinematix - there are three of them - go for all if you love to use choirs in your music making…

Sorry about your problem, can you give me some details/screenshots to support(at)virsyn.de for evaluation?
    Try to solve asap.

  • To answer some common questions:

    • The 7 day demo is only working on the stand alone App.

    • You can purchase a library before the demo expires by tapping on the row ( anywhere to the left of the demo button ). This will get you to the purchase process.

  • Here I compiled a couple of purchase examples to make the variable pricing more transparent:

    1) You buy one library for US$ 9.99

Your bonus is now 6 US$ which is not enough to get a bonus library because they are all 9.99 or more

    2) You buy another library for US$ 19.99

Now your purchase total is 29.98 which gives you a bonus of 18 US$. Now you can select one of the libraries with a price less than 18 US$ and get it for free! The total discount you've got is about 37%

    3) You buy libraries for a total amount of 220 US$

Your bonus is 146 US$ which reflects a discount of 40%

    4) What does it effectively cost to get all libraries ?

Due to the bonus system you only have to pay US$ 442 to get all 62 libraries for lifetime!

The discount now is 60% - the more you buy the higher the discount.
