Which synth app is good for inadvertent squelches, squeaks, bleeps and bloops?

Any ideas? I’ve had iVCS3 for a while but it makes my brain feel sticky.. maybe I need to put more time into it but I’m hoping for something a bit simpler. Something that will whirl and gurgle by twiddling a few knobs.
I don’t want the sounds on their own - I’m meaning a synth that can be sequenced and merrily played with.

Immediate thoughts are MiRack, KQ Unotone and Hilda. Hilda probably comes closest to what you’re talking about, if I’ve understood correctly. Ripplemaker is another good candidate, thinking about it. Also Branches.

I wish iElectribe got the AUv3 treatment. It just became a Vst. Tis still my fav bleep blooper on iOS.

  • Skiiid is great for squelches etc

    .

  • BLEASS Omega is pretty good for that ... the randomiser produces some excellent and usable bleepy bloopy type sounds (amongst others).

most close we can get to 2600 on iOS it’s Oddysei :-)

  • A couple instances of Rozeta Particles and you can have a good starting for release or taming the chaos

There's a cool video, in which the original sound designer explains how he made those sounds. I would have thought it's pure synthesis, but actually he plugged a mic into the Arp and used his voice.

    It's a fun watch :)

Ben Burtt is such a genius with sound design.

I do have some gas for this but no... Must resist. Too many synths already and it's not auv3. As the original was duophonic, any thoughts on how this compares to rss ivoks in duophonic mode? Everything I read about the odyssey is that it is generally considered good for gnarly leads etc, ivoks also does that really well

Gavin, maybe others might know. Last year I was about to buy this, but skipped as I kind of try to move away from Gadget. (I find it often a bit of a hassle to switch between the host and Gadget). But it is still very tempting if a sale comes up, the interface alone screams ‘touch me, I like it’. I must admit, I am a bit of a sucker for anything skeuomorphic :)

Unfortunately I read some bad reviews here and on Future Music (I think?) that the touch interface with the sliders etc can be a bit of a nightmare in this, which is a real pet hate for me, so that makes it easier to resist, also, lol

I get the impression Cherry Audio might possibly bring some of their synths to iPadOS (this is speculation, not a rumor or based on anything I’ve been told).

I asked them a few weeks ago, just before the Logic arrival, but they weren’t too enthusiastic porting to the iOS. Who knows they changed their mind and we get lucky.

They just simply sound different. They both do duophonic well and can do similar things, they just won’t sound the same. 2 of the more unique sounding synths every, so it’s easy to differentiate. I’ve had iOddysei for a long time and love it, but rarely use IAA anymore so Ivoks gets more use out of me. Though I am a sucker for sliders over knobs. If you’re looking for gnarly, Ivoks is the way to go. Also you can run any synth through their Polyvoks filter to get it more into that territory.
