Fantasy, Not Clickbait: Arturia V Collection on iPad
Now that Logic Pro for iPad is live, I wonder if we might see Arturia V Collection in the App Store one day soon?
I can see it being a universal license, with desktop owners already having iOS access. I can also see each synth at $29.99. What are your thoughts?

I would love to see it! But, I’m not holding my breath. I suspect a lot of these desktop plugin makers are waiting to see what adoption of iPad Logic looks like before investing in the platform.
Not clickbait, but definitely wild fantasy 😂
I can imagine the effort of porting it would be very significant.
I am thinking the same, although it may be already cooking…
??? Syntronik is a rompler with a filter. That's a far cry from virtual synths like the Arturia Collection.
Personally I doubt it, as I can’t see them getting a return on their investment unless they price it similarly to their desktop apps.
Not unless their code isn’t far off already.
V9 is silicon chip compatible.
Makes me wonder what the level of effort is, to port from AUv2 to AUv3. That might be a non-trivial hurdle. I also think that we might see more vendors like Arturia on iPadOS if the EU or some other entity forces them to allow sideloaded apps. Imagine if Arturia could distribute on iPadOS via ASC instead of the App Store. Avoiding the 30% “Apple tax” might make it worth it for them.
That would be really cool but they would have to change some of the UIs radically to become touchable.
I've used a few of their synths on a Windows tablet and some are basically unusable without a mouse or touchpad.
Not sure if they'd invest the time to fix these.
Well Pigments seems to be touch friendly and if you are honest it might be the only Arturia synth you need cause if you tweak it right you can manage to emulate many of the other Arturia synth sounds.
I would be rather interested in the FX Collection 😀
This is why they invented praying.
That would be great but given their history with iOS who knows if it will actually happen. I’d love for them to simply just update iProphet to make it AU
Great point, UI would definitely be challenging.
I’m getting a sense that the reason we are seeing more desktop caliber plugins on iOS/iPadOS is because of silicon. When developers make their plugins silicon compatible they are basically making them mobile.
The only challenge that remains is making sure the UI is mobile-friendly, which is definitely no small feat. I feel your use of the word “radical” is applicable because some of the V Collection, in its current state, might be hard to maneuver.
I’m optimistic because I get a sense that many developers feel the UI challenge isn’t as big a hurdle in exchange for the value of increasing their user base and providing some mobile continuity to their current users 🙌🏽 hopefully Arturia finds this thread 😉
I concur, Pigments would be a phenomenal addition, all by itself, to iPadOS!!!
Another fantasy thought I have about Pigments is “what if…” Arturia included it in the “next” Freak???
Imagine “SuperFreak”, the biggest synth in the Freak line: including all the oscillators we have now plus a large touch screen for manipulating stuff like samples and oscillators, MPE keyboard, SD card storage for recording samples and the addition of Pigments!
