best powered USB hub in 2023?

edited June 2023 in Hardware

I realized that my old Anker powered hub that I use on for my iMac is failing and causing errors on my external drive. Can you please recommend a new quality powered hub? The Anker worked great for many years, P.S.

  • As I've mostly moved away from using Lightning based devices I'd say for me any USB-C hub with a USB-PD port (for charging) will work, extra bonus for additional USB-C ports in addition to the regular USB-A ports, card-readers, HDMI-Ports etc.

I'm using an older version of this with my M1 iPadPro...

Thank you! I meant to ask about this as a powered desktop hub that I can leave connected to a USB port on my iMac.

Even if you can connect the iPad to the hub while it's connected to a computer you won't be able to access the connected devices from the iPad and if you intend to use IDAM (USB Audio & Midi from iPad to Mac) you have to connect the iPad directly and not via a hub.

But you can swap the entire hub between the devices and all connected tuff tags along...
