  • Yea based off the update details it sounds like this app has several new useful features.

  • This looks useful for changing a bunch of settings in AUM at once, like program change.

    Exactly. You can do some cool stuff by sending preset change messages too.

  • Can anyone explain to me how to set this up so it will scroll through presets in a synth every time it receives a note on message? I have tried to set this up but failed. Program change is something I really don’t understand well, only ever got it to work once and forgot how to set it up

    Scroll through them? You can't do that with this program.

    Program Change messages are specific numbers that trigger specific patches. For instance, sending PC 0 would select the first patch and PC 2 would select the third. There's no "up" or "down" PC message.

    The developers do plan to possibly add variables that could, say, increment or decrement the PC value, but that's not there at this time.

    Could you point some LFOs at the that and have the LFOs change the PC numbers to change the programs? Or is there a Moziac script for sequencing program changes?

    Thanks... Yeah, I know we discussed this years ago so I just kind of gave up on it. Would love some way to easily scroll through presets without having to interact with a preset menu!

  • Please give me some examples folks of how you will actually use this app

    Here's a quick example Mozaic script that would do that using note 60 for up preset and 59 for down preset. It requires that the target app support Program Change though. Not that many do.

    @Description
    Note 60 increases Program Change. Note 59 decreases it.
    @End

    @OnLoad
      upNote = 60
      downNote = 59
      if Unassigned init
        init = YES
        pc = -1
      endif
    @End

    @OnMidiNoteOn
      if midinote = upNote
        pc = Clip (pc+1),0,127
        SendMIDIProgramChange MIDIChannel,pc
      elseif MIDINote = downnote
        Dec pc
        SendMIDIProgramChange MIDIChannel,pc
      endif
    @End

    Wow, thnx Wim, will try that

    A quick one before I head to bed:

    On load of an AUM session, send a Program Change to one of the Lumbeats apps to load the needed preset. Maybe send a couple of other CC's to set volumes, and that kind of thing.

    Might not work. I'm sleepy and didn't test it! 😂
    It was just an example.

  • Can you think offhand of an app that supports program change that I could use this with?

    I believe the Sugarbytes apps support program changes.

  • Synthmaster, Audiolayer, and most Virsyn apps as well, pretty sure. Also, you can configure PC for presets in AUM.
