Easily one of the better synth channels on YouTube. Love this guy. Never feels overtly like he’s selling something and the videos are all calming somehow.
Get these squirrels outta here…
hm I wonder if this is possible with any other DAW than Logic or Loopy. I'm in a not-buying-any-app-year right now, you know. using every app I got till I know them inside out. and I hate paying subscriptions for something I rarely use ;-)
Oh and I love Ricky's vids as well. They are always an inspiration and something to look forward to every week - genius!
Yep I love the way he presents the information. And his jams are usually right up my alley.
Nice demo combining hardware and iPad!
interestingly i not much into music he make but still really love his videos.. especially those minimalistic jams.. extremely kreative guy
did anybody watched whole video ? Before end (somewhere after 16th minute) Logic crashes ))) And Ricky was basically just recording audio and tweaking stock filter...
I don’t think I’ve heard his actual music but those jams are just 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
I tried to do a similar setup with AUM + Digitakt but i struggle to get transport control and programm change get to work properly.
It seems Logic has a better midi implemantation.
I tried this setup with Cubasis. However I don‘t know how to arm a track for recording. transport controls would be nice as well.
This can be done in any DAW. To arm a track in Cubasis press the big white dot under the channel Mute button when the track is armed for recording the white dot will turn red.
yep, I see. Though when I hit record Cubasis starts recording right away without waiting for an incoming signal. perhaps I got monitoring "on" on my Digitakt. Have to check that.
btw what are these three buttons about like "Punch in" for example? sorry for high-jacking this thread!
Punch in and out are for overdubbing. Say you record a keyboard part, but flub a few notes. You can set a punch in before the bad notes, and a punch out point after the bum notes. Now when you go to record, it will only record between the punch in and out points automatically for you. So you can play over the keyboard part and just overdub the bum notes out.
If you want to the start recording when when the playhead reaches a specific location in the timeline you can set the punch in which is the point where Cubasis will start recording. Punch out is where the Cubasis will stop recording. Used for over dubbing
a screw up when recording or if you want to record sections of a song. You can also set a pre-count so that Cubasis won't start recording right away you can have a 1 or 2 bar count in.
Thank you both - much appreciated!
