A classic still maintained to this day. Pretty straightforward. :)

  • Yep. Doesn’t get any simpler or more reliable than Mulitrack DAW. Been around a long time and still great for the simple things. Or can be used for more complex recording if you wish.

    GarageBand?

It will cost her nothing and there's lots of info online on how to use it.

  • 4P multitrack Recorder, which is Au or standalone.

It is awesome. But just a heads up. For 5 bucks, it's 2 tracks only.
They lowered the price, but limited the tracks. Then there are the track IAPs

That sucks. Last I remembered it was 8 tracks initially.

Yes, and with plenty of room to grow if needed.

MTD is great, but not really any more intuitive than GB. Also, it goes against many expected iOS UI conventions, like not being able to just drag audio regions without selecting them first, or odd knob behavior.

  • haven’t heard of this one before. i’m gonna check it out thanks

  • multitrack daw is very cool. is there an option to loop im not seeing?

You can setup up a timeline selection and have that loop.

While MT Daw is excellent, GarageBand is much simpler for a newbie that wants something simple.

To set up a loop region touch and drag on the “ruler” part of the time line.

I'm thinking that in this case, your best bet would be Garageband. It's free and has everything she'll need.

  • GarageBand. So simple a child can use it. So advanced one can create professional quality results as long as the audio going into it is of high enough quality.

  • Or loopy pro. Four donuts. Couldn’t be easier.

Loopy Pro is amazing but is $29.99 base price and $19.99 for upgrades, which is a great deal, but not sure if @eross ' neighbour friend can afford the $29.99. Maybe @Michael could help with this if need be.

I could be wrong but Quantiloop pro ? Read reviews , so many detailed positive reviews about it and it’s on sale right now for $7.99 from $9.99.

It’s literally a 4 track Cassette style loop station with fx. Very simple and does the job well but also can do more if you want it to with adding Auv3 instruments and effects ). You can check out the free version also.
