Logic Pro - playhead all wrong
Early days for me so sorry if basic...
Got a simple 4 bar loop in Tracks. The playhead isn't following the action properly in main song arrange or note editor. It stops moving at about 3.5 bars, goes straight back to the start and waits for the music to catch up and then off it goes again. Repeats this behaviour every time.
Have I inadvertently enabled some setting that I'll never use?
Comments
Sounds almost like you disabled catch playhead?!
Cheers for reply Samu but I’ve got catch playhead on Automatic. Here’s a short video (sorry 4 cheese)
Weird?! Is it the same behavior after you re-launch the app?
Does it only affect this particular project or all projects?
There's plenty of weird bugs in Logic, no doubts about that...
Yes it's always the same after relaunch and only on this project. I just assumed that in my clueless button pressing I'd enabled some weird feature.
Turning the cycle/loop on/off can sometimes cure these kind of things or just re-selecting the area to loop.
I've not bumped into this kind of issue yet...
Lol typical, my 1st actual go and I hit a show stopper 😭
Yeah, I tried on/off loop selector and changing the area - no joy.
Thanks again 👍
May have ‘automation’ on the timeline…
Ahhhh good shout, I seem to remember fiddling with automation. I’ll have a look
Hmmm I can't see that there is a way of adding automation to the play head... although on a positive note: automation is soooooo much nicer than Cubasis 3
May be wrong on the automation.. but it’s worth a look.. BTW.. The project seems to be ending at 4.1.1.1 rather than 5.1.1.1
Hi Rajah. Not sure what you mean? The playhead on my 4 bar loop seems to go back to the start at about 4.3.1.1 then waits for the actual bar to finish before before starting again.
Do you think this has something to do with markers, hence why you've circled in red on your screenshot?
Automation and markers are under that button.. (red) ..
