Logic Pro importing proyects from Logic pro ipad.
I try to import projects creates in logic ipad onto logic pro mac but i can not open it. I save it in icloud and download in my mac. I see the project file i open it, appear a list of tracks, but the audio files are missing.
Is there any requirement for transfering ipad to mac?
Thanks.

Did you open the original .logicx file on your Mac?
How big is the filesize?
If it’s empty tracks, then should the iPad file be pretty small…
What happens the other way around, open Mac file in iPad?
Are you on the latest version of Logic on mac?
Yeah, and also on MacOS 14 beta 2…
Save Logic projects as packages not folders, make sure you select all checkboxes for “Copy the following files into your project” when saving your project.
Also run the consolidate command.
But the first question from @Franelectro was open an iPad project onto Mac…
Hello, thank you for your answers, at this moment, i will start a project in logic ipad and finish in logic mac. I make a simple project with 2 audio tracks of 8 bars each one, the size of the logic ipad project is 6 mb. The same size i see in logic mac when i try to import it.
I am working on logic 10.6.3, as i know is 10.7.8 the last one version, perphaps the transference is only possible with 10.7.8.
You'll need to update. It's free and mandatory for Logic pro!
Airdrop works, absolutely amazingly fast and perfect between the two devices with the latest update on macOS.
Yes , you are right updating 10.7.8 and works, thanks
Moving projects from Mac to iPad for me the file size is pretty big. I’m assuming it’s the instruments. Why would the same instruments be bigger on Mac than on iPad?
Maybe there’s more samples or something in the Mac versions? If not, maybe you have alternate takes or deleted files still in the logic bundle? Cmd-8 opens that, then shift-U selects the unused files. Then you have to go to delete in the menu of the browser that cmd-8 opened. After that, file-project management, and you can purge unneeded files.
If you use project alternatives, then files in other alternatives are still considered used, so they wont be deleted. You can manage the alternatives manually to delete if not needed.
If you knew that already, my apologies. I didn’t learn about that management until a few years in, it’s not that obvious!
