"An Empty room" - Emvoice and acoustic/synth track
Hi
this is my first track having moved from Garageband to Logic Pro - which I'm guessing is an easier shift if you've been using GB anyway.
My parents were evacuated during WW2, and I've been watching a few documentaries on the subject. The heartbreaking emotion of children being sent away from their parents, some never to return/or the parents killed/house destroyed etc, really resonates with me and unfortunately these events are still going on today
I didn't use many new LP sounds yet, apart from the trombone studio instrument, the rest was built up using some chord creation in scaler, some arppegiation (much improved in LP), and overlaying some leads. Played with some of the voice effects on Emvoice to give some additional dynamics
Video created on a PC
hope you enjoy

You've made a good (sad) mini documentary here.
I've been trying out Emvoice going through various effects too. I hope they can create/improve the voices. I wish there was some kind of expression control.
thanks,
yes Emvoice could do with a bit more customisation/control as it's just vibrato at present. There's also a narrow area of what sounds good - if you go outside of that it can sound too quiet/low or too shrill - it does with Lucy anyway. For Keela, I've only used the 8 note demo version and she seems to be more "full blast" and Jay, I've only used once - again he can sound a bit nasally. Sometimes you just want to put more breath/expression onto a phrase.
Maybe I will try synth-v as it seems more powerful, but I've yet to hear anything that sounds as good as Lucy can in her sweetspot range.
Like the vocal glides, can certainly see this tech improving quickly. Great photo research too. And sadly, not just a historical concern.
Top notch music and video 🙏
It is lovely, thanks for sharing the story.
thank you all
Well, that was a rather powerful and quite emotional video and tune, even though it used synthesis/modelling/AI or whatever! It certainly kept me engaged .
thank you @AlterEgo_UK , really appreciate your comments
My plan was to write 10 songs with "Lucy's" vocals, and the fire off a facebook ask for my local area to see if any vocalist wants to collaborate - re-recording some of my existing tracks and writing some new ones. I've gone past 10 now
still on the list to do
