A modular jam, feat. Lyra 8, Behringer TD3 MO AM: Demon In A Box
“I mean, it’s just a box, right? All that stuff about a curse, and a demon inside it and everything is just B.S. Right? Right?”
After piano practice this morning, I felt the need of something… less structured. Fruits of a Lyra 8 workout, bass line from the ‘modded’ Behringer 303 clone, samples from Radio Music into Morphagene triggered randomly by Wogglebug’s burst mode, and FX from the excellent FX Aid XL eurorack module. Mixed live to the Tascam Model 12, sneakernetted to AudioShare for editing, and AUM for a little light mastering. Enjoy!
*This one goes out to @GeoTony , who recently accused me of the heinous sin of mellowing into tunefulness.

Pretty scary ! Great, love it a lot .. Lyra is THE BEAST ! Instant horror soundtrack :-)
You are an alchemist 🧙♀️
Thanks both, for the listens and comments.
Yup, @dendy, the Lyra… suits me, I think, being something almost as untameable in the hands of a skilled musician as it is in mine. Levels the playing field, so to speak.
And thanks too especially for @Stuntman_mike ’s observation regarding my occupation in a previous life. Or is it in a life to come…? Time is such a trickster, isn’t she?
delirious! It suits the heat here
Thank you! Where?
in my spare room.
(in Italy)
Aha. Italy. Very nice. Although I find too much heat oppressive. When I used to visit hot places like Los Angeles or Melbourne, I often wondered how people who lived in that kind of climate all the time ever got anything done. I'm much more a cold weather person, I think. Luckily (?) I live in a huge, draughty old Victorian house which constantly feels like someone has turned on an air conditioner. Great in summer. Not so much in winter.
Ha ha, only just found this one. I knew you still had it in you 😊
As Joseph Fiennes says in Shakespeare in Love… ‘Wogglebug! Good name.’
I like the idea of the Lyra as an antidote to tunes!
Maybe it’s just me being weird, but if I’d not read the title and your text, I’d just have found this rather beautiful, the sound combinations being rather satisfying. The title transforms it, though, and you start to hear the wailings of the imprisoned demon. Which is interesting in itself.
