ios file management

hy guys,

am i right that its not possible to move files from/to a pc to/from iphone using a usb connection?
i can't get it work that way, neither through files app nor audioshare or itunes.
was a pain to send large files through my pc browser/audioshare, especially since you have to download each single file separately manually.
i hope iam too stupid.

  • Not with just a USB cable if you’re talking about the folders exposed in the Files app.

I believe there are some PC apps that can help you to do this, but don’t know the names of them. Maybe someone who has had success with this can provides some instructions?

  • I was able to move files from the exposed Audioshare “iTunes Filesharing Directory” in the iTunes desktop app. Audioshare lets you create a zip file.

  • If your windows machine can act as a file server, Files app can mount it as a local server and you can move files back and forth that way.

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.

Yepp, this is the easiest way.

I have my Synology NAS mounted in Files.app and can easily access all the files from any app that supports Files.app/DocumentPicker.

I imagine that if you do a web search, you can find instructions on how to serve/share Windows directories and files. Search for something like "how do i share files on a network from Windows".

  • Maybe this might help?
